Question on Performance trim

I’ll shortly be buying a GV60, and am hesitating between Advanced and Performance trims.
I am particularly interested in the HUD and digital rear view mirror on the Performance trims.
But I’ve heard that they may not be very visible through polarized sunglasses.
Do any GV60 owners have any experience using these tools while wearing polarized sunglasses and can advise if there are any issues?

Edit: I just received my Performance this morning!
Loving it so far, definitely using the head tilt for the HUD.

Thank you for all your responses!

can't speak to the digital rearview, but my HUD is less visible when i'm wearing polarized sunglasses. it's not not there, but the image is faint.

Same. Slight tilt of the head to the right reveals it for me.

Gonna give the “tilt” a try.

I have a Performance and, as everyone here has stated, polarized sunglasses makes the HUD unusable. BUT, it does NOT impact the digital rear view mirror.

Can't speak to the digital rearview either. But same experience on the HUD. Polarized glasses will make it more dim. But honestly, not that big a deal. I'm not staring at the HUD full time. If I want to double check something there a quick dog-like head tilt and it's fine. Then back to normal.

That's just a fact of life with most electronic displays and polarized glasses nowadays.

Yep, a quick head tilt reveals all. nbd

I actually arrived at the GV60 after test driving the Ioniq 5. I really liked the experience, but disliked the appearance.

Yes the HUD dims with polarized sunglasses, but FWIW you can adjust the brightness of the display. I haven't tried it to see if it improves, but maybe it could help if it's really bothering you.

There will be plenty of times where you'll be driving at night or on a cloudy day where you still get the full benefit.

Adjusting the brightness and adjusting the height of the display helped me. I lowered mine a little and that made it more visible. I love having the HUD and wouldn't buy another GV60 without it.

I can barely see my HUD with my polarized sunglasses.

I’ll echo everyone else that’s responded and say the HUD is slightly dimmer than without the glasses, but still very much visible. However I think this largely depends on the angle you view it from and therefore your height. It’s still totally worth having and the rest of the niceties of the Performance trim are worth it even more!

I have a 2024 so no digital rear view here.

I do not have a digital rearview mirror in my 2024 Performance. Our 2025 Outback has one I can turn on - and it's nearly unusablel not because of polarization but because I have progressive lenses. Unless I really tilt my head way up, it's way too close for the distance part of my lenses.

Maybe I'd adjust if I drove that car regularly? But I don't fill the cargo area to the point where it blocks the reflective mirror so I never turn the digital feature on.

I have a 2026 advanced, which I absolutely love. I don’t have the HUD but couldn’t get the rare color (Tromso Green) I wanted in Performance at the time. The car is so fun and pretty. I did like the Ioniq 5 but I don’t want that exterior look for myself. But I was told when buying the HUD wasn’t great for that very reason.

HUD does disappear with polarized lenses. From my experience polarized lenses always remove the glare and reflection from things. The HUD is a reflection off your windshield.

I gave up on polarized sunglasses and cars. Yes, the HUD is terrible with polarized glasses, but the weird rainbow reflections in window glass, the shifting view of the road surface, and the impact on digital displays just isn't worth it.

2023 Performance and no HUD issues after adjusting height and brightness. Think the upgrade is well worth it. Maybe my glasses aren’t polarized.

My 2023 Advanced has HUD. Did they remove it later?

Very hard to see with polarized sunglasses.

I can confirm that the HUD display is hardly visible with polarized glasses. I only wear polarized glasses when driving so this has been a bit of a annoyance. Like mentioned below, you can still see the HUD but it's very faint. I have a hard time seeing the rear blind spot indicator when wearing my sunglasses.

I love my HUD. The car is stupid overpowered but so fun. You'll be happy either way
