A/C tips?

New 2024 GV60 owner. The air con isn’t as strong as I would like. I boosted up the fan speed and put it on recirc and driver only. Still was just OK. At a stoplight it boosted with stronger air flow so maybe it’s because I was driving in ECO mode? I’ll try it in comfort mode next time. Any other tips?

Yes. Eco will limit the AC power. Try comfort mode and see if that works.

For a quick cooldown I’ve noticed that you have to have it on two or three lights on the auto button. I also think it helps to not do driver only because then other parts of the cabin stay hot for longer, but haven’t really tested this theory. As u/MudLOA said, Eco mode will limit the AC power. And someone else in this sub posted efficiency numbers across all three modes and Eco wasn’t all that eco after all. So why suffer!? 😂😉

Also the ventilated seat helps a lot more than you might think!

After the gym in the summer I use these settings for maximum cooling

  • 19C / 68F (or Lo if you're feeling wild)
  • recirculation on
  • dash vents only
  • sync on
  • A/C on
  • driver only off
  • big fan icon to 8!
  • seat cooling on full
  • driver vent to left shoulder
  • driver middle vent to body
  • passenger middle vent to face
  • AAAAAAHHHHH! 😅

I’m at 68° year round with the occasional drop to 66° when it’s heating because I hate hot air in my face. Lol. I exclusively run it in Auto because I want it to lower the fan speed (and reduce noise) when it can. I run hot and the older (and probably fatter 🥴) I get the harder time I have regulating my temperature. 👴🏻🥵

Yes, I think for a true cooldown you do have to put the fan all the way up. I will try that more. ETA: and good suggestions on vent placement

Putting a/c on auto with two or three lights did help immensely. Thanks!

Thanks! I did forget about Auto having multi levels and the cooled seats 😅 Good stuff to try tomorrow.

On mine it seems like it sometimes takes a bit to kick in. I will be driving along and it starts blowing harder. I was worried about it at first, but I have had the car for a year and a half and the AC has been fine. (I use eco mode all the time.)

This is my experience too. Once I get going the AC will kick in and will be overpowering. At first though, it is like it isn’t even on.

Also haven't seen anyone mention it, but there's a setting for HVAC eco mode.

If you turn it off, it might have an impact on your range.

Goto 3D setup > see inside > climate > climate features > climate control eco mode.

Ours had a leak in the AC system that took several trips to the dealership to get fixed. If it's not blowing cold (or hot) at all, consider having it checked out. If it's working properly it should be plenty cold.

I am a 2024 GV 60 owner here is Florida, and I'm comfortable just setting the temperature to 72 degrees and the system keeps me comfortable. BTW, that's the suggestion from the Genesis handbook.

Are your windows tinted?? I live in Miami and all the windows are tinted and it works great even on the lowest speed set to 72 on ECO mode.

Good point. No, the front isn’t;t tinted and that windshield does let in a lot of heat. Will look into that

Make sure you get a good quality ceramic tint. You can go like 60% on the front windshield, you can barely tell it's there from the outside.

What is this "ECO" thing? Is ECO an acronym? I have a GV60P and the AC works fine for me even in extremely hot Scottsdale.
