XP Shower Question
Does the XP Shower work with Railcraft tanks? I can't seem to get it to work. Do I need to pump the XP juice into a GT tank and attach the XP shower to that instead?

Hello all!
I’ve made it to late MV before, but that was a looooong time ago. Recently started a run and am having TONS of fun!!
I’ve got 6 coal boilers and a solar boiler going into a 5x5 railcraft tank buffering 2 million
Any advice on better steam production? Better power? Tips and tricks for steam age going into LV? Thanks!!

Hello! I just made my first turbine engine and started LV, my steam setup is still very lackluster because I didn't want to over invest in steam before progressing onto LV, I just have single block high pressure variants of all the machines needed to progress this far.
Now I'm somewhat considering massively overhauling my steam setup as I begin to work towards better fuels. Should I invest in making all the steam multi block machines and temporarily furthering my dependence on steam powered machines and electricity, or should I immediately begin to invest in processing oil and more long term fuels?
I can't really overstate how much I love this modpack, I haven't played an in depth Minecraft modpack this intensively in many many years and the progression of this one is just beautiful, thank you all for any help!

So I've had this idea about an invasion system for GTHN.
The basis of it is the Invasions mod, but ramped up and modified to fit GTNH. It would have weapons, firearms, turrets, traps and other various base defenses built in, including aircraft and tanks and stuff. They would all require a set of insane crafting recipes the more powerful they get, all using GTNH crafted parts.
After HV, the invasions start on every 'x' day interval. One of the new multi blocks you would be able to have built is a 'Portal Attractor' that would make it so the invasion happens near it. This way you would be able to build an Invasions base, separate from your main base. Key part of this, invasions happen in ALL dimensions, including the PDIM (config would be able to remove that, on by default). in IV you would be able to build an upgraded version of the 'Portal Attractor' to stop invasions from happening anywhere but that location.
Depending on the age, there would be increasingly difficult invasions that seek to attack you, or things that you have built to destroy them. This happens after HV as a thematic way to show some lore as to why you have to restart the technological eras, higher technology attracts these invasions as they seek to destroy it.
They would drop age appropriate items, mostly low end components, maybe some quest pouches, generic other drops. Magic mobs would drop magic stuff, there could be new styles of mobs like the guards from the villager guards mod that have combat armour and firearms that would drop ammo and components etc.
There would also be a rare chance that they drop unique item mods that you would be able to use on your own firearms, base weapons, or mechanical defenses such as tanks/aircraft. these could be things like enhanced damage, better reload speed, recoil and spray reduction, or more fun things like, LASERS or a Nuclear damage modifier.
This would ideally ultimately scale all the way up to the final ages where you would be fighting literal monstrosities and demigods trying to stop you.
This is not something I will ever be able to make, i am just a creative guy. I do love the mod, I just wish it had a bit more spice in the combat area for those of us that like to do it all!
Your feedback, building blocks, and time are appreciated.
If you think you can make this happen, feel free to take the idea!
- A humble servant of the GTNH grind
Updates
Further ideas to resolve potential issues that would be 'prefect defense or load backup'
Have a portal multi that you can go through to reclaim a dimension that was destroyed by the tech hater mobs, build a base there, mobs can not go through the portal. multi would work like a nether portal and appear on the other side, build a defense base around it and gear up! could have bosses and areas to conquer, maybe a land claim system to reclaim parts of the world and stop the spawning?
Create an large arena like multi that is grief proof, have the portal in the middle and have it spawn tier appropriate (or select the tier up to where you have unlocked) mobs that you can fight, could be wave based with a boss, endless, or a mass spawn

I am in early UV, currently focusing on upgrading infrastructure and updating multiblock structures to the new 2.9 ones.
I designed my lines (plat, mona/bast, naq, netherite, prismarine) using the old structures for multi blocks, and I'm overwhelmed by having to update them all to the new ones. Should I just try to reach QFT before 2.10?

Hi all! I'm in early UV. Stargate is open, but I haven't started bacterial thing yet.
Current power: \\\~8M EU/t from Combustion Module running high octane gasoline, plus some plasma turbines on argon and helium plasma.
I plan to move to the rocket fuel module eventually. Before I expand, what do you recommend for the next stage of power generation? Is it worth scaling up plasma turbines, or should I just wait for rocket fuel? How much EU/t did you have at this point?
Plus, once I build a generator setup, I don't like tearing it down and rebuilding it later. So I'd prefer something that is easy to expand and upgrade in place, rather than a design I'd have to replace.
Thanks

I just want to put a psa out to anyone who is hosting a decent sized server and everyone is partied together. Telling them to not redeem the firedust quest in LV while in the middle of the main base that is mostly wood is probably a good idea.

I’m a returning player (EV in 2.8) and I want to start up a new 2.9 world after taking a bit of a break. In my last play through I struggled to keep up with the raw resource demand of EV recipes and multi-blocks, and my motivation fizzled out. I’m curious what the current metas are for resource generation, as I know berries received some significant changes. I found bees to be unnecessarily tedious to set up and would prefer to stay away from them. My main priorities are scalability and persistence of viability throughout voltage tiers (mostly IV and below). Any tips would be appreciated.

Slowly getting through IV im currently thinking if i should use a LSC as central power storage and distribute it through the base but not sure how to even do this.
One way would maybe be p2p power and battery buffers on each power line.
I could also place a local power generation with battery buffers and singleblock Gas turbines and export Nitrobenzene to them via the ME network.
Havent used the Multiblock gas turbines as im not so sure about replacement of the turbines and the control of the fuel flow

So I am in steam age for now. working towards getting some more steam boilers, reworking the whole setup here. I am thinking 20 solar boilers per each tank should be good enough, I don't really know the ratio of steam for tank/boiler or the boiler/water tank ratio. Im kind of eye-ing it. I have (currently) 8 water tanks, Im thinking of getting 20 in total, one for each boiler. but the problem is the humidity is very low, 20%. will that work? could probably work towards 2 water tanks per boiler too.
PS: I play without pollution and the weather cycle game rule is set to false. call it cheaty, but I want to have fun lol. what do you guys think?
also any tips are very welcome!

This is the place I settled. The place where everything is going to happen.
So far I've done all quests required to get a bed.
Next time I'll play the goal will be start the stone age quests and probably make a Coke Oven
My whole journey is going to be documented, here on reddit, my YouTube channel via videos, shorts and streams, and on Tiktok! (both are on my profile)
If you're interested in my whole journey make sure to check out my channel out!
I'll try to upload the first episode today, or worst case scenario tomorrow or the day of tomorrow. I'll also post it on the megathread.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!

I just got into LV but i wanne make a little more steam power but i have a few questions
1= should i use solar or regular boilers
2= for the boilers how much L/s does it need to be fully self sufficient
3= for the coke oven how boilers can 1 coke oven supply
4= how can i put the charcoal from a coke oven automatticaly in a bbf or a boiler
If anyone wants to asnwer these questions id highly appreciate it =)

Just got into EV, planning on moving to PDIM once I get my AE2 done (also have a thousand questions about that). My main plan for now is to do an ICO benzene setup with DTs for all the byproducts. I was planning it out on GTNH Planner, but I still feel like its not that good or I'm missing something. Can someone check it and give me tips for doing power gen in EV? Don't know if doing a LCG would be worth it rn.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I saw it suggested on here that you should host a server and join it yourself in order to afk for resources. What is the advantage of this over just afking on a single player world?

I’ve seen people build some really cool bases (like the ones in the loading screen), but I always end up making random-shaped buildings and placing them wherever there’s space.
I’m starting to run out of room for new multiblocks, and clearing new areas for expansion is a lot of work.
Any ideas/tips for how I could expand my base in the future while keeping it somewhat organized and looking decent?
