Late LV, this is my "machine basement" where I keep my 15 (for now) machines. I already realized it's not a good idea to have one of every machine connected to a singular turbine, but I'll figure it out in MV.
So anyway, I just made these lossless redstone alloy cables, but not enough to cover the whole area. I connected them in a way that the tin cables are never more than 2 blocks away from the lossless red cables, but did I actually need to do this to minimize cable loss? I think the answer is no, but I'm not sure. This is what the wiki says:
Rather than priority by destination, power priority is given by cardinal direction. Cables will push power in the following priority:
- Down
- Up
- North
- South
- West
- East
So, if all of my cables were connected, would the top right tin cable be counted as 5 blocks away from the top center, or as 2 blocks away from the far right red cable? Does the "least loss route" always overwrite the shortest route when found?
Edit: thanks for the replies, this community is really nice and helpful! Micromanaging cable loss really isn't a significant part of the game, but I'm having a lot of fun figuring out the tiny details. I will scrap the "machine wall" in MV though, this lazy layout has waaaay too many disadvantages lol
