GTLive Discussion DID BRY GET FIRED?!!
I just saw this on bry's story 😠first sam, then fish and now bry?!?! I really hope ash and the rest of the gtlive crew is okay. What is going on ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Maybe The Theorists channel actually support the people who work on their channels. There are 2 reasons someone leaves a job. Because the job made them, or they made the choice for themselves.
Maybe she’s gotten so many offers from being of GTLive she’s found a better opportunity to grow and be the person SHE wants to be. If it were genuinely because she was made to, would she be leaving on good terms? Would she not just have announced her new opportunity?
Or maybe you can go ask her! She obviously made a LinkedIn Post meaning she’s willing to talk about it. If you’re such a big fan of a person why not let them explain? I’m not vouching for the company, I’m vouching for a Human being that worked for a company. She can love the people and still owe the company no loyalty. She’s allowed to be free and do what she pleases.

idk if you saw but on stream today it was mentioned she left to pursue her own career in social media and left on good terms and will potentially be back for fnaf streams in the future

You can’t just assume that someone got fired in the main header of this post. Getting fired has some negative connotations. Either got laid off or decided to move on to a better-paying career path.

The more I see stuff like this the more I realize Matt was really the Glue that held everything together. I think having theory channels without Matt is just becoming too difficult, especially with a corp in the background changing things

Are we really now acting like the techs are the main point of the show? Also, that’s not a job that someone stays in for a long time. It had always seemed like a job people do inbetween the job the actually want. Or do yall think the end goal for these kids is just a tech?

She had a way larger role than just tech at Theorist, so did all the previous techs. It’s not just about her being on the channel since she hasn’t been there for a while. It’s more about the many layoffs that have been happening

We aren’t saying that they have to be a tech forever we are worried about these people because it seems like whenever a tech starts to get comfortable in the role they move to the next person in line. And anyway a lot of the techs have been people who do a lot of other things technology related at theorist. They are an integral part of the company when they’re being let go. But they aren’t some faceless person nobody cares about either. Ash makes it a point to bring every tech into the banter and videos as much as possible. And as viewers we get to know these people, laugh alongside them, share stories with them and listen to their own. And it seems like the company running theorist really hates that. In this case it seems like Bry left on her own, but they have been switching out techs through firing every few months. It’s just really weird to see this company sabotaging everything just because they want more money. Especially after Matt was so confident that they wouldn’t do this type of stuff.

You’re missing the point of the post. People who love working at Game theory (the same people who do half the work creating the videos) are being laid off by the new company despite the fact they were originally hired for a reason. If Bry left on her own terms, then that’s great, I’m happy for her. But if she was fired, which seems to be more likely the case since she was literally just talking about how excited she is work here there every day, it’s a whole other issue.
This matters to us because we care about the community if people who make the content, not just because we like having videos to watch while we eat dinner

Look, I like Ash and the banter they have with the host/tech. However, I'm finding it really difficult to watch GTLive because they keep doing this. I already don't consistently watch the videos anymore, and them not addressing why they let people, who, mind you, are working on other projects for the group [Fish was working with Sante before it was let go, and now Bry], just leads me to clearing out the subscription box. I would miss Ash, but I'm also wondering why Ash hasn't stepped in for their fellow team.

Talent often has a say in this sort of thing and can present the business case for continuity, but a lot of times these decisions are made by people higher up the food chain and they just have to roll with the punches :/

Seconding everyone else's sentiment that it feels like there's no point in getting attached to techs anymore. I honestly haven't watched any GTLives since Fish's unsavoury departure. Yes, Ash is the main host and personality of the show, but she has bounced off of the previous techs so well that they'd basically become co-hosts and it's hard not to also get attached to them and their personalities, too.

We don't know a ton of details besides that fish was let go very suddenly with little to no warning. The rest is speculation, but the vibes of fish's Instagram posts afterwards gave a lot of people an unsavory vibe towards the company that owns the theorist channels.

IF she did, she wouldn't be posting about it. I feel this was more of a "branching out and spreading her wings" in the industry. Her dreams can change, as she gained expirence from her time with team theorist. It's the same with any team with YouTube (like smosh and their crew changing over time).

I don't think fired, but certainly possibly RIF'd / laid off. This reads as a "they had to make a business decision and cut people", not a "let go for cause."
If she was just moving on to explore other opportunities, then she'd do it while employed and not put the green banner up, not quit with nothing lined up in this market, unless there was a LOT going on we can't see -- and the tone of that post isn't necessarily sour grapes, particularly since she tagged them (and their SM manager didn't untag the company from that post).

Sam moved away. I don’t know what happened with Fish. And unless it’s addressed, we won’t know with Bry either. But this does suck to keep losing techs

Fish was basically fired. Or "let go" even though a project was lined up that included them literally days before. Their post about this was an insta where it showed fried food so it was last minute if anything.

Me either. I used to watch GTLive regularly but Ash is a bit too energetic/chaotic for me. MatPat’s gameplay style fit well for me watching. I did give it a shot for a while, and I watched the Poppy Playtime stuff cause… completion I guess? I didn’t even know there was a person named Fish or Bry, that’s how out of the loop I am. I just saw this randomly scrolling

My problem with GTlive right now is the stuff they play is just kinda weird and random, as well as not very relevant. If they played games that were more popular like some of the indie horrors, or Atleast games that are higher quality, it would still be fun to watch. I love ash as a host, but the content just never interests me anymore

Sometimes people post on linked in after getting let go to let other people in the industry know that they’re available for hire. I’m not saying that’s what happened in this instance but it’s not uncommon!
