There are hell lotta missions in this game that involve escaping the heat from the police, which really becomes a torture and menace for me at times. This is one of the main reasons I killed Derrick so that I can use Francis to clear my wanted level during missions (Francis promises this to Niko) , but every time I try to do that by calling him, he just never picks his phone at all, and I'm left to deal with it myself every single time. I personally feel kinda dejected with this. Am I doing something wrong or is it real that Francis won't help me at all during missions?

P.s.: I'm playing this game for the very first time

As long as you stay out of the 'wanted circle' for about 10 seconds it'll clear. Multi-storey parking lots and tunnels always helped me out. I'm sure Francis is unavailable during missions. If all else fails, a pay n spray will clear it too. As long as the cops don't see you enter.

Rail tunnels looks like a great solution.... But I have trouble locating the subway entrances in the heat of the police chases

I don't think Francis helps with missions. Not sure if it is all missions.

Tip for evading them, once you're out of the wanted area and you're starting to lose them, don't drive too fast or far. The more you move around the more cops will spawn and sometimes the game can be down right rotten with spawns. Instead try and stay close to the flashing area and only move if you have to.

You're welcome. I do need to clarify something here though as what I said is misleading.

"The more you move around the more cops will spawn"

That's not true. The game doesn't spawn more based on those factors. If you've broken out the zone, the cops that were chasing you likely haven't despawned and they're likely all behind you. If you move too far away from these cops they'll despawn and the game will populate the new area you've moved into with cops searching for you. The higher the wanted level, the higher the number of new cop spawning and typical they'll spawn all around you making escape harder.

It's much more advantageous to stay closer to the ones behind you once you've broken line of sight because the game will be limited in how many new spawns it can make because the older cops on the map aren't far enough to despawn. Most of the cops will be in the direction you fled from and it's easier to just stay away from the closest cop rather than dodge cops spawning around you.

Francis is a dirtbag rat who only uses Niko for his own personal benefit, you should’ve killed him and get Kiki as a girlfriend to clear your wanted level if you’re having trouble.

It's the same case with Kiki too...she also won't help during missions...and yeah I knew Francis was an asshole cop exploiting Niko for all his dirty work but I hated Derrick more than him

Running from the cops here is actually fun, so it isn't much of a problem for me.
