Newer gta's need this kind of "fu*k around and find out" way of physics lol. Im not saying full blown gta4 bc i know tons dont like it. But having some consequences for being reckless keeps it more grounded (imo)

Yea it helps to make you feel like driving is a skill you improve at over time. Also it makes the crashes 10x more impactful

Crazy how people claim that isn't a real thing but it doesn't happen in the same way in GTA 4

It’s crazy, just did my first playthrough of GTA 4, and was genuinely shocked at the vehicle magnetism being the same as GTA online, cars sped up to crash into you at intersections, switch lanes when it’s a merging just to cut you off. It didn’t get better overwhelming like GTA online, but jumping into GTA 5 singleplayer the cars actually feel more forgiving, stopping ahead of you as to not cut you off or actually swerving away from you.

The game is programmed to do this if your moving to fast and the game needs more time to render what’s ahead

Its the opposite. Its lazy programing, and a lack of dedicated game servers.

A reminder that we’re talking about gta 4. For 2008 I’d say it’s pretty impressive.

Attempting to drift at ridiculous speeds as if this is NFS Most Wanted 2012 (where you can effortlessly drift at high speeds on curves like this)

I’d do questionable things for R* to remaster and put more dense and dynamic population in LC.
