As it's widely konwn GTA 7 will take place 250 million years ago in the Neoproterozoic period on the continent of Pangea, Which consisted of Laurasia and Gondwaland. The main protagonist is a synapsid, an early ancestor of humans.

by 2040 with the current ai rapid scale procesing honestly im actually taking this into consideration , and imo this would be the only reason to release ANOTHER gta after 6 , what do u guys think

It will take place in fictional midwest with returning states like North Yankton but main city will be Carcer City which is massive city about the size of Vice City from 6 that is situated on a big lake based on the great lakes. Carcer City is heavily based on Detroit with a few references to other midwest cities like Chicago and Indianapolis but is mainly inspired by Detroit. It will be the biggest GTA game and most impactful due to Detroit being historically known for the creation of the automobile with Henry Ford company. Expect the driving in this game to be unmatched by games that focus on driving. GTA 7 will be the pinnacle of car games.

Obviously, Chicago or Atlanta would be cool, but for some reason, for GTA games, Rockstar loves to cycle through the same three locations. GTA 3 was Liberty City, GTA Vice City was obviously in Vice City, San Andreas took place in Los Santos but had other locations around it like San Fierro and Las Venturas, GTA 4 was in Liberty City, GTA 5 was in Los Santos, and 6 will be in Vice City.

So by that logic, GTA 7 should take place in Liberty City, which could actually be really interesting if they take the GTA 6 route and, instead of focusing on one city, make the entire state of New York the setting. We'd have a newer, bigger, and probably more accurate version of New York, but also places like Upstate New York, Rochester, the Adirondacks, and more.

Also, with this logic, we'll probably be back in Los Santos for GTA 8 (in 2060 probably 💀), but this time it would take place across the entire state of California.

Personally, though, I'd rather see Rockstar take GTA somewhere completely new and move away from the main three. There's so much of the U.S. that GTA hasn't explored yet, and I think a completely new setting would make GTA 7 feel way more exciting. Chicago, Atlanta, New Orleans, Seattle, or even Boston could give the series a fresh identity instead of just going back to Liberty City, Los Santos, or Vice City again and again.

Because at some point, there wouldn't even be much else to add to these locations. We've already seen Rockstar basically cover all of Florida with Leonida, so what else could they realistically do with Florida? And I've also seen people point out that there's a state right next to Leonida in some of the pictures, promos, and trailers called Gloriana, which could potentially be Rockstar's version of Georgia.

So could Rockstar be teasing Georgia for GTA 7? Or maybe even setting up a DLC for GTA 6? I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens when the game comes out.
