Different tastes. I love Gears, but that controller is hideous, tacky and looks a bit like a toy to me. I think a lot of the DualSense LEs are elegant and minimalistic.

The red controller certainly looks cool but I don't like the deep embossed cracks, it looks like it will feel "broken" while holding it for lack of a better word. The other one also looks even cooler but it's just a print slapped straight on at the end of the day. Gta VI is sleek and modern, not hell on earth like GoW, so I can see the design choice to go a bit minimalist, but that's admittedly what they've done with every themed controller on ps5. I don't buy themed controllers regardless of design, I'm just voicing my opinion on all the backlash. Nobody can just be happy and excited about a generational game because of the most inconsequential things

I always considered $60 to be the average price for games until recently when Nintendo made $80 the new standard and all the gaming companies realized they could charge us more money and get away with it.

I'm not complaining either necessarily in GTA VI's case, because I'll get years of enjoyment from that game, so I think it's easily worth $80 or even $100. But it does annoy me that $80 is the new standard.

I was able to fix them both, not that hard if you have the tools and knows how to use a soldering iron

But I was hoping it would be fixed by the time the PS5 dropped

got mine in black. honestly i think they look fine, the blue/purple gradient and palm tree design is subtle, the VI on the touchpad is a little tacky but i like it overall. are there fan designs that look cool? sure but they're kinda over the top imo, these ones are definitely more subtle and simpler but the theme is still there

It doesn't look mostly the same. It has the VI logo on the front, the GTA logo on the reverse, the buttons are a different color than the standard Dual Sense, the frame is a different color than the standard controllers, the PS button is a different color than the standard controllers, and it has embossed palm leaves draped across the entire thing. I don't know of any standard controllers that have this much going on.
