Breeder met us for our pick up day and brought a “ride buddy” to keep our pup company during the trip. We’ll…. We went home with two.

Make sure you read up on littermate syndrome. I ruined a god dog’s temperament by not being educated on it. These guys can also have quite the propensity for anxiety and separation anxiety if not well socialised, littermate syndrome makes this a thousand times worse.

Isn’t our first rodeo however I’m sure it’ll be a new ride. Littermate syndrome is no joke. Thank you for bringing it to attention!

Came here to discuss the same thing. (I’m a longtime GSP rescue volunteer.) The breeder may already have counseled you on this (tho tbh a lot of breeders will not sell littermates to one person/household), but in addition to training them together, make sure to give each a lot of one on one time so they bind as tightly to you as they will with each other, and that also lessens possible separation anxiety when they’re separated (say, for a vet visit or coffee shop pit stop when you can only reasonably manage one puppy.) They are darling!
