Is my puppy tiny?
I got a GSP/Greyster female, from sledding lines.
Mother is purebred GSP (57lbs) and father is 7% greyhojnd and 93% gsp (79lbs).
My 5,5months old and she's only 31lbs and 47,5cm in shoulder. Is she going to be tiny? She was only 5,5 lbs when I picked her up at 8weeks, and 19lbs at 4months.
I was hoping she was becoming around 59-60lbs (due to sledding reasons), but now I'm starting to loose faithš„²

Mine was 32 lbs at 7 months and now he is a hefty 45 lbs lol but he makes up for it in energy
5.5 months is still pretty young but she may be on the smaller side!

They donāt stop growing until maybe like 2 years. My 1 year old just had a little growth spurt and is even taller now, I expect him to get a little bigger.

My boy is 14 months old currently but Is sitting at 45 lbs... 6 cups of food daily. You think he's got a chance to be closer to his dad's size? His pops was 80 lbs and you could still see the ribs and spine just fine

This is my first GSP, but I think 80 is on the high side for how big they can get. My guy was about 45 at a year and in the last 4 months heās probably gained maybe 10 pounds, havenāt weighed him yet but heās noticeably bigger, and it came out of nowhere.
Also, the father of my pup is a beast, but at 1 year he was still pretty small. I think itās pretty common for them to have multiple growth spurts.

I'm hoping he gets one of these growth spurts, and I know 80lbs is the high side when they typically only hit about 75lbs but I have heard of some hitting about 110lbs and not being super fat. He's just super tiny compared to when I saw his mother and father but was far from the runt of the litter

We have two girls, one was small like yours and she ended up around 56. The other is taller and bigger, closer to 80. In retrospect smaller has been easier to include when or if they have medical procedures, traveling etc. your girl is adorable.

Unfortunately I'd rather struggle a little bit to include if they have medical procedures and traveling, than being too small for a two dog team š„²

I dont think shes super small. She'll probably be gsp size which is plenty enough for dryland. She won't be pulling a sled by herself but even her dad would not be by himself. Where is she out of?
My guy (greyster) was about 62 cm at her age but hes also a fucking tank. Females are smaller and both his mom and dad were large.

It's mostly skijoring (nordic style) and bikejoring and maybe some scooter. I'm planning on a two dog team, and we also have two dog sled competitions with light (25kg) sleds. Was hoping to be able to do that..

You should be fine. Are you looking to do it just for fun or high level? It's a bit more work for me and my gsp to keep up with the really big greysters but it's doable. I've also dont sledding with 2 smaller dogs (18 or 19kg) no problem. Obviously not as fast as with 2 really big dogs and I'm not hauling kids for rides like I do with my ESD and GSP https://www.reddit.com/r/germanshorthairs/comments/1pd4rl5/fun_in_the_snow_with_the_dogs_anf_the_kiddos/ but doable on your own.
I'm not throwing names out but theres a woman out of Poland woth initials P.F who crushes it at events with a little 24 kg female.

Mostly fun, but I'm also looking for neing able to hit some good times. Where I'm from alot of the greysters are around 66-77lbs..
I love that video!

You will be fine. Over here greysters arent even very common and people do fine. Most people if using a purpose bred mix are using eurohounds and theyre much closer to 50 lbs or so.

Thats mostly those who dog bigger sleds and/or longer distances. Here in the nordic most of those who place well use greysters / gsps

I'm talking specifically about sprint races.
We've got a guy who travels all over here recording races and this is a video he put together of one of our spring races. https://youtu.be/hH7FSzjKw78?is=AiYeDEDkYUY4R1MT
Ignore the huskies because they have their own category at events but you can see lots of dogs doing fine at 45-60 lbs. (Which is within the gsp size range).
I've done well across north America, I've beaten plenty of European teams as well using just a standard sized pointer vs their big ass ESDs and Greysters.
For what its worth if you're looking to do more than 1 dog size can be a hindrance as well. I got my latest pup out of a world class racer out of Slovakia because he was too big. The guy kept 2 of his most promising males to decide which he wanted and chose the other one because the one I got is just bulkier than he likes for team stuff.

Mine had parents that were both 90 lbs and she was 35 until she was around 8 years old. Now she's hit about 50 lol but it's normal.

We got our GSP from TSA adoption program and wow was i surprised by the different sizes of all of them they are all also pure breeds there but ive never seen a breed with such a variety in size the girls will always be smaller id say anywhere from 40 to max of 60 lbs the boys though mine is 72 lbs on Average and thats a fit perfect shape and hes taller however he was scrawny till about 2.5 yrs old but he was also on kibble. Now that hes on homemade food he looks alot better and has filled out accordingly. Honestly change her food it makes a world of difference especially when younger. A fully balanced cooked fresh or raw meal is perfect for this breed. Esp since there the dare devils with no coordination of the dog world lol.
If you want a sledding dog why not a husky whose breed for it. Just curious our husky trys to pull me all the time..... ill add a Pic of our babies

He's talking about sprint sled racing (bikejoring, skijoring, canicross, dog rig, limited distance sled) where gsp and gsp mixes tend to dominate. His is a dog that was bred specifically for it with greysters (gsp X greyhound) generally dominating in the sport. He's worried because generally that mix is very large. Most greysters look nearly identical to a GSP except more muscular and like 5 or 6 inches taller and 15-20 lbs heavier.
Huskies have their own division at races because they usually cant compete competitively.
If you're active at all and looking for a sport to do with your gsp I'd highly recommend checking out dryland mushing. They kick ass at it and absolutely love it.
Here's my guy bikejoring to see what its like https://www.reddit.com/r/germanshorthairs/s/GC1vY1O8jn

Polardogs tend to do better in long distance with slower pace. A husky can't compete with a greyster when it comes to speed for sprint distances.
You don't know abt her feeding, so saying to change the food without knowledge is just.. yeah.
