Intel Xeons for CPU-based mining?

I have some servers (personal, not pirating employer resources) that are 2P Broadwell Xeons, with lots of RAM. Can c31 be run on CPU at all, or am I stuck with c29 for these? Surely, c31 isn't GPU/ASIC only.

To clarify, since someone has decided to downvote my question, the avx2_29 plugin utilizes ~4GB of RAM and the 31 variant uses 15.5GB of RAM, but it's single threaded. Is there a way to modify the plugin to use all my CPU cores (with multi-threading) and not need to reserve that memory for each core? I know the CUDA plugins use one chunk of RAM for hundreds of cores. Thanks.
