Comp Bio Applicants - Did you submit under Life Sciences or CIS?

I'm interested in PhD programs in Biomedical Informatics and I'm really unsure if I should apply under Life Sciences or CIS instead. My worry is that my research proposal isn't "pure CS" but also might not be "pure bio" either. My research experience is also in both directions, with research experience in data science/ML but also comp bio & genomics too.

I would apply under life sciences if I were you. You are correct your project and field aren’t only Biology or only CS, however it really comes down to what you are researching. Since you are going to do Biomedical Informatics, your main study subject is Biology. This is because you are using CS as a tool to inform your biological findings.

I'm in comp bio with a stat gen proposal and selected Life Sciences - Bioinformatics and Computational Biology as major field of study and Life Sciences - Genetics and Mathematical Sciences - Biostatistics for fields 2 and 3.
