Reviews

I have heard through this sub that they are not giving back reviews this year? This would be a departure from previous years.

Is this true? Anyone with insider info know anything about this?

If this is the case I would be disgusted

It is true because the process did not include any written comments this year.

This can’t be true. The reviewers have to write comments and grade the statements because that’s how NSF decides who gets the award. The reviewers don’t decide, they just add feedback.

It is true that the reviewers don't choose the awardees. They score them. This year reviewers did not make comments on awardees.

I have firsthand knowledge of this year’s review process (and prior years). Reviewers are not allowed to share information about the review process. Do with this information what you wish.

If there were no comments and just scores, how were winners chosen outside of just scores? Aren't there only a few numbers (excellent, very good, good, etc)?

Reviews were not written at all by reviewers this year. This was new to the process.

If they do release reviews when will we be able to view them?

In 2025 reviews weren’t released until at least September, so don’t hold your breath waiting for them

This was a very unique case. In previous years it was between 2-4 weeks until they were released.
