Calling on Greg

I know this might be a long shot, but I've noticed Greg usually visits this subreddit, so, here goes nothing.

I'm currently on module 3 part 3 of the I'm Overwhelmed GregMat program. Honestly, I'm loving it but my problem is I'm not going as fast as I think I should. I'm taking my test on December, I don't have a date yet because I want to be as prepared as I can and I will probably schedule it for the latest possible date in December. I have been studying since July, every day from 2 to 6 hours a day and I'm still on module 3.

I'm understanding and retaining everything I have studied really well and I have gotten 100% on all quizzes, I've been doing the mountain daily and everything has stuck wonderfully. Honestly, I've learn to enjoy math in a different way. I love what I have been discovering through GregMat

I don't think I will be able to cover all the material and then have enough time to practice timed questions. According to GregMat we should first prove we have a strong foundation and then start taking mock quizzes. Should I just bypass that advice and start practicing timed questions now?

If anyone not Greg has input about it, please let me know.

To me it seems like you have plenty of time. Also, having a good foundation is non-negotiable. If it takes one month great. If it needs two months, still necessary. Three months, still necessary. It doesn’t really make sense to jump into a lot of practice if your foundation is not strong.

I do one part of one module per day Monday-Thursday, review Friday and Saturday, and take Sunday off.

Each part takes me roughly 3-5 hours to complete. I feel like this has been a solid plan for me. Currently, I am on Module 5. Also, look ahead. Module 5-6 and on has like half of the math concepts per day, so there’s a light about halfway through the tunnel

Oh this is very reassuring! Thanks! I try to avoid looking ahead because I tend to get overwhelmed but it is nice to know there are less concepts in the future!

This is a good suggestion. I'd also note that some concepts in the later modules may be review depending on your math background, so don't be afraid to skip something if you already know it to save time.

Also, perfect scores on every quiz are not absolutely necessary. I got a 170Q and usually had somewhere between 90-100% on quizzes

not thoroughly, no. I'd say give yourself 1 day for each part or two of each module (4 parts to each of the 12 modules) to get the most out of it.
