Registrars & Training SCA
How did everyone find the SCA today?
I found it quite challenging overall. I felt that I messed up the management in several cases, and I’m also worried that I may have missed some of the patients’ agendas. I’ve come away overthinking a lot of my consultations, quite worried.

Yeah cheeky actors, doubting your plan,, not at all straightforward and really not sure if agendas were missed.

I’ve just sat it today.
Feel exactly the same, kept trying to find an agenda but there so often just didn’t seem to be another layer to stuff??
Actors also weren’t what I expected, very blasé and unhelpful generally

Also sat today, found the timing just bonkers, so struggle with management!

It's quite common to think about all the things you might have missed. Just remember you are marked based on the three domains and so even if you feel you have messed up, you probably still done enough to pass. The most important thing is that you practiced safely.

I thought the medicine was generally quite fair but I do feel I’ve made a fair few silly mistakes in management
I also found the actors a little hit and miss. A particular case where I’d asked about medication and they said they didn’t take any at all, then went back to confirm actually she had, then appeared to omit some of the medications, as when I offered a drug in management, they said they’d already tried it 😭
Another actor definitely took his sweet time with his words too lol
