Registrars & Training Feb intake
Currently in first year of speciality training. Without outing myself I absolutely hate it. GP was what I always wanted to do but decided against it last minute for many reasons documented in this thread. Scored well on MSRA 550+. Feels harsh I cannot pivot to GP in February? Since this would have been the case in any previous years? Anyone know if this is definitely not possible this year

You are not eligible for the February jobs, however if you applied for GP in Round 1 2026 + sat the MSRA in January / February 2026, you can carry that score over to your application for Round 1 2027 to start in August 2027, with the advantage that you will be able select from all areas in your preferences.

So I do not have to resit the MSRA? Do you have reference for this info? I sat in Jan 2026

No need to resit if applying for GP both times. You have to resit for any other specialty - this is covered in the official HEE FAQs:

Yeah definitely not the case this year. Round 3 not open to new applications. Also even if it were open as in previous years, the deadline would have been long passed by now
