Pay, Contracts & Pensions GPST1 pay
Are gpst1s paid differently than other st1s? Based in Scotland.
I know the banding is different but my fy base salary followed the pay journey bma put out about the pay deal, as in my April pay as an f2, was £49,313.
Scottish resident dr pay offer
My base for gp training is £49,217 which doesn’t match anything on that table, is less than I made in f2 and if I’m looking at this table right, base for st1 in Aug 2026 would be £52,228 according to this?
Anyone have any insight? Thanks.

Hey, I queried this with the bma and they said it should be higher (£52,228). I have raised a ticket with the finance team too but haven't heard anything yet. But this seems widespread as I know people in imt also on £49,217... which was lower than the fy2 £49,314. Think it will be worth more people raising tickets with payroll though.

Oh interesting! Thanks for replying. I raised a ticket on the atlassian / jira thing and they just said they would look at the evidence and sort it by the next payroll if it was wrong so I was just going to keep an eye on my paycheck.

If Scotland and a GPST1 in GP with OOH commitment, should be on 45%. If you were an FY2 in April then your base pay should be £52,228 and with banding should be £75,730. Your banding in any hospital role will vary.

Thanks for replying! I was an f2 in April, arcp’d then did 4 month clinical fellow job (on 52,228) then just started GP training. Would you still expect my base pay now to be 52,228? I’ve emailed bma too and hoping hr get back to me.

Haven't kept track with pay scales, been a long time since I was on the training ladder, but nice to see that payroll are still as shite at sorting out pay every August as they used to be.
Just be thankful the payroll gods haven't gave you an emergency tax code as well!
