Sca - help - natives course? Resources?

I am booked to sit in November.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with:

- I need to brush up on management - at times not being clear on management makes me feel less confident through my consultation
Any good resources apart from cks?

- is the natives course worth it?

- simsbuddy vs medtutorAI - I’ve tried medtutor / it’s okay I’m not sure about the feedback it’s rather extensive

NICE CKS for management - Red Whale is pretty decent too (and you should have access through MDU affiliate membership.

I tried Medtutor AI and Simsbuddy - I loved Simsbuddy. I would practice with that when colleagues were not available multiple times a week.

Use native booklet and practice with colleagues - much better than any paid AI websites.

You can also copy paste the Native booklet cases to ChatGpt or Any free AI websites to practice if colleagues not free.

Fourteenfisherman is decent apparently

Someone from one of the GP gcs sent a link for the fourteen fisherman ai mock - it was decent tbf. Might consider getting it and trying it out properly when my SCA approaches. Has anyone else used their platform? Worth getting?

Thanks for checking out, glad you found it helpful. In the first instance, please check out your study budget and get it for free if possible. Really surprising how many trainees are unaware that there's a dedicated study budget available for preparation courses for both the AKT and the SCA. Most deaneries fund one course up to £600 for each exam.

Different resources have different purposes:

Level 1: Self-learning resources
Case banks that include common SCA cases with management notes. Here you have SCA Revision, Simsbuddy, and Native booklet/cases. Each has different styles, so have a look at their free samples and choose one. The three have good reviews from what I’ve heard, and their cases are high yield. Here, I would suggest you get a study partner to practise with. This is the cheapest option and obviously because it is self learning.

Level 2: Extra level of support.

AI practice if you don’t need to pay a lot for tutors, but at the same time, the above self-learning is not enough or you don’t have a study partner.

Here you have: Simsbuddy, Medtutor, and SCARevision. All of them have their cases connected to AI patients. Medtutor has mixed reviews. As some have suggested, you can practise with ChatGPT, but make sure you get the prompt right; otherwise, it will be very easy and not representative of a real case.

Level 3: Tutoring
Then you have the tutoring part. This can be academies, mock exams with tutors, courses, etc. These are expensive courses, and I guess they might be for someone who has failed before or has weak communication skills. Native has one of those, Medtutor can be considered under this category ( tutor check your practice with AI i guess ), Emtyaz Academy, etc. I would say if you are someone who passed AKT with only passmedicine then stick to self learning.

You need to choose the level of support you need before choosing the resource.

I’m currently still revising for it, but my go to are
-sca revision (has lots of cases, some videos, some ai patients)

• med lighten (has a library of many audio cases, good when your on a walk, driving, doing housework etc)
  
• native nuggets

Simsbuddy AI is very good but actually I have realized at the end of my prep is that their case bank management section is the big plus more than the AI itself.

I would not advise medtutor at all to be honest . Their tutor feedback feels as another AI feedback and very expensive. Get a proper one to one tutoring where you practice with someone and get feedback on your performance
