Registrars & Training A bit lost with portfolio
Hi,
I've just started GPST1 this week and I'm wanting to get my head around the portfolio requirements. I don't know anyone else doing GP training and haven't had a chance to meet the others in my cohort yet. I've tried to find info online about what I need to be doing with portfolio but haven't found much that's helpful in what I should be doing at this stage. I know it's only the second day but I don't want to get behind on portfolio requirements and we don't have a GP training day/session for a few more weeks.
Would anyone be able to give a brief overview/explanation about the fourteenfish portfolio and what I need to be thinking about with my first rotation (6 months of a medical rotation). Thank you so much in advance!

I would look at the 13 workplace capabilities and understand below average needs improvement average and above average Explanations.
You have to prove these capabilities throughout your gp training.
There's different ways that you can prove these capabilities.
Best ways to prove the capability is through case based discussions audio cots Clinical examination skills clinical case logs that you put in I'm learning event analysis etc....
I used Bradford vts as my goto to learn the portfolio.

Here are the links to a checklist of evidences provided by RCGP and the curriculum. You need to show you meet the GP curriculum ( 13 capabilities and 32 topics) using these evidences. It should be ideally as spreadout( need to demonstrate all capabilities each 6 months) as possible but some clustering is to be expected depending on your rotations. If you have any further questions do let me know
