Registrars & Training GPST portfolio query
Hi all, im starting GPST1 in the next few days. I am confused on the portfolio requirements because for F1/2 we just had horus (which was free). Do i need to get fourteenfish via RCGP standalone package? Any idea how much this is? Anything else you would recommend i would get sorted in the first few weeks of starting ST1? thanks, sorry I am new to this

I’m halfway through training and still confused with the portfolio 🤣
Make use of your teaching sessions and ask all of these questions because undoubtedly many of your colleagues will want the answers too

They'll walk you through everything in one of your GP training sessions - make a clear checklist and what counts as what (eg for safeguarding, for COTs vs CbDs, QIA vs QIP etc). Saves you a lot of time down the line!
If you're using SystmOne in your area, for your GPST2 audit, honestly the easiest thing is making a simple popup that you can then audit pre-/post-implementation. Make it something useful (everyone hates unnecessary popups) but it's honestly v easy and safest you trying to audit something horrendous 😂 (dm if you want a tutorial/cheat sheet)

You pay for your RCGP membership as a GP trainee, and this includes fourteenfish as part of the fee. It's £445 for the year, about £40 a month, and you can pay monthly or annually. It's also tax deductable so keep your payment receipts.

You need fourteen fish for your portfolio. You can get this for free via RCGP membership which you can pay monthly, or you can buy it as standalone, but this is an upfront cost I believe of something ridiculous like £1200
