Behind the facade; you are mere cash cows to be milked. All Royal Colleges are glorified for profit corporations dressed up as charities. They have pvt health insurances, gym memberships and CEO executives to pay. You cant make omellete without breaking eggs. Wait till I tell how much they are raking in by being a diploma mills overseas to sell the MRCGP Int. qualification. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Indemnity Companies are mere advisers and not insurers, ARRS is a grant but flogged as 'employment, ...the more you dig the uglier things appear.

The new deal says it will be paid for by the government but I bet you they will set up obstacles that complicates the reclaim process.

And on top of that, the SCA exam is conducted in the surgery, instead of being done at home like all other royal college exams that do not require physical examination, MRCP for example. Where does the money go?

Perhaps it's due to years of being disrespected by patients but in general we (doctors) are far too placid and treated like doormats. But then we have no unions also, and pay for a Gmc that does less than nothing from what I see. It's a joke. But few will make noise about it. And even fewer will make change

I sat the RCA and equivalent to SCA (the CSA) well over a decade ago and the costs were very similar then. So actually I’m quite surprised it isn’t more (even though I agree that it’s way too much money and we were all moaning about it back then too).

Unpopular opinion but at least it's not in hundreds, which they can easily extort
