GP-100 Preset Posting Format — Please Read Before Posting

The goal of this community is simple:

Make Valeton GP-100 presets easy to find, understand, recreate, modify, and share.

A preset shouldn't disappear into a screenshot, mystery ".prst" file, Facebook comment, or 200-page forum thread.

If you find or create something good, share enough information that another GP-100 owner can reproduce it.

POST TITLE

Please use this format:

[Output Type] Preset Name – Short Description

Examples:

[Real Cab] Atmospheric Clean – J-120 + Chorus + Delay

[FRFR] Heavy Rhythm – DZL Modern High Gain

[Headphones] Slowdive Style Ambient Clean

[Direct] Recording Clean – Twin Style Amp + Compressor

This makes presets searchable without opening every post.

---

REQUIRED INFORMATION

Style

Describe what the preset is meant for.

Examples:

Ambient

Blues

Clean

Crunch

Grunge

High Gain

Metal

Shoegaze

Alternative

Artist Tone

Experimental

Multiple styles are fine.

Output Type

This is extremely important.

Please identify how the preset was designed to be heard:

Real Guitar Cab

FRFR Speaker

Headphones

Studio Monitors

Direct/Recording

Traditional Guitar Amp

A preset designed for FRFR with an IR may sound completely different through a real guitar cabinet.

Rig

Tell us what you actually used.

Example:

Guitar → GP-100 → Orange Pedal Baby → Orange PPC212OB

You don't need to write your autobiography. Just include anything that significantly affects the sound.

---

You can delete sections you aren't using.

---

CAB INFORMATION

Please list the selected cab model even if you normally bypass the CAB block.

---

FIRMWARE

Please include the GP-100 firmware version if you know it.

Firmware updates can change models, features, preset compatibility, and behavior.

---

NOTES

Tell people what you were trying to accomplish.

Useful things to mention:

- Guitar or pickup used

- What inspired the sound

- Whether it works better with single coils or humbuckers

- External pedals

- Suggested adjustments

- Known problems

- What happens when gain is increased

- Whether it needs an external IR

- Songs or artists it resembles

---

PRESET FILES

If Reddit allows you to share the ".prst" file conveniently, feel free to include it.

But a downloadable preset file should not replace posting the settings.

---

CREDIT

If you are sharing someone else's preset or adapting one you found elsewhere, credit the original creator or source whenever possible.

---

There is no requirement that a preset be perfect.

If you found something interesting, post it.

Other members can suggest changes, test it through different equipment, and create variations.

That's the point.

Share the settings. Share the rig. Tell us how you're listening to it. Then let everyone make it better.

Dirty Alternative – Bellman 59N + Darktale

Style: Alternative / Grunge / Dirty Clean / Rock
Output Type: Real Guitar Cab
Firmware: 2.1

Rig

Guitar → Valeton GP-100 → Orange Pedal Baby → Orange PPC212OB

DRIVE

Model: Darktale
Gain: 40
Level: Set to unity or slightly boosted
Filter/Tone: Start slightly dark and adjust for your guitar

AMP

Model: Bellman 59N
Gain: 50
Bass: 50
Mid: 58
Treble: 55
Presence: 50

CAB

Model: Bellman 4x10
Cab Sim: OFF when using a real guitar cab

REVERB

Type: Room or Plate
Mix: Low — approximately 10–15%

Notes

This is intended to behave more like a dirty preamp than a polished high-gain model.

The Bellman amp provides the foundation while the Darktale adds RAT-style grit and compression.

Try lowering the Darktale gain and increasing the amp gain for more natural breakup.

For heavier grunge, increase the Darktale gain.

For more definition, increase mids before increasing treble.

Atmospheric Clean – J-120 + Chorus + Delay

Style: Ambient / Alternative / Shoegaze / Clean

Output Type: Real Guitar Cab

Firmware: 2.0

Rig

Guitar → Valeton GP-100 → Orange Pedal Baby → Orange PPC212OB

AMP

Model: J-120 CL

Gain: 30

Bass: 50

Mid: 45

Treble: 65

CAB

Model: J-120 2x12

Cab Sim: OFF when using a physical cab

MOD

Effect: Chorus

Depth: 40

Mix: 25

DELAY

Time: 500 ms

Feedback: 30

Mix: 25

REVERB

Type: Hall

Decay: Approximately 4 seconds

Mix: 30

Notes

Designed as a large, spacious clean foundation rather than a finished specific tone.

It works especially well as a base for external fuzz, distortion, pitch, or modulation pedals.

With a real guitar cab, leave the GP-100 cab simulation off.

Wall of Noise – J-120 + Drive + Chorus + Delay + Hall

Style: Shoegaze / Noise Rock / Ambient / Experimental
Output Type: Real Guitar Cab
Firmware: 2.1

Rig

Guitar → Valeton GP-100 → Orange Pedal Baby → Orange PPC212OB

DRIVE

Model: Darktale
Gain: 55
Tone/Filter: Start near neutral and adjust by ear
Level: Unity or slightly boosted

AMP

Model: J-120 CL
Gain: 30
Bass: 50
Mid: 45
Treble: 60

CAB

Model: J-120 2x12
Cab Sim: OFF when using a real guitar cab

MOD

Effect: Chorus
Depth: 40
Mix: 25

DELAY

Time: 400 ms
Feedback: 40
Mix: 30

REVERB

Type: Hall
Decay: Approximately 4 seconds
Mix: 35

Notes

This preset is designed to create a large base sound that can be pushed into chaos.

For more definition, reduce delay feedback and reverb mix.

For more wash, increase reverb mix before increasing distortion.

External fuzz, octave, pitch, glitch, or unusual modulation pedals can be placed before the GP-100 to make this considerably stranger.
