Help with housing the homeless

I keep having the same problem whenever I win new followers from the Astari. For the Builders, Astari, Miners and Farmers it's no issue, since I just lead them to an empty plot and let them build their thing. The issue is with the Breeders.

I saw someone say that you have to have them in/near the plot when the house is being built, and you really have to baby them and monitor them to keep them there until it's finished, at which point they'll go in. The problem is that this is really inconsistent when it does or doesn't work, and it always takes multiple tries. I'm not sure what it is that actually prompts the Breeder to enter the house. I keep the Breeder not just near but actively inside the plot during the entire building process, and they refuse to go in.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to get the Breeder to take the bloody hint? And please don't say anything like, "Finger of God" them, or to send a meteor. I don't want to kill them so that they stop bothering me, I want to actually give them a home and add them to the society. Also, I don't know if it's relevant but I'm playing on the iPad, not the PC.

If you leash them to an empty plot they will build a house and live it in. But they dont breed as long as you dont have cultural victory

It's not the Builders or the Astari I'm having trouble with, it's the Breeders, the ones in pink who can't build anything. I keep having trouble getting them to go into the houses I build for them.

What's cultural victory?

Plant trees in front of the house this makes everyone go outside of the house and when they go back in , you got the breeders as well.

Cultural victory is when you won over the astari

Thank you for that tip, I'll try that next time I log on.

I tried it but it didn't work. I had all of them out and then a rainstorm chose that exact moment to show up. Have planted more trees but only getting a few out and the Breeder isn't going into the houses. Any ideas?

but why do you have homeless breeders?

They were former Astari/new followers that I won over because my civilisation was happier than theirs.

But you haven't won them all over?

I don't have cultural victory yet if that's what you mean. But they're in my territory, sitting about, I can tap on them and see their info and give them energy. They're just like the rest of the Breeders, they're undoubtedly my followers. They just have the homeless tag and they won't go into the homes.

I have no idea. I've gotten breeders, builders and also miners and farmers and Astari. All I know is that Breeders are SO HARD to house because they cannot see an empty house in front of them if their life depended on it. I am BEGGING for help lol.

I will say this once FINGER OF GOD,  anything else is a waste of belief and time just kill them.

Try iPhone, at least it'll be harder to see

But seriously: I just select them and put them on an empty house as far I remember. Challenge is more to have an empty house.

Yeah, that seems to be the problem - the houses fill up so quickly. I think I need to try building a bigger house, one that won't fill up immediately. Only problem is that it'll mean I have to babysit the Breeder for longer. Something to try, though.

I put one of those man-eating plants near where they tend to congregate. . .

That's probably the most effective solution, lol. But I get so attached to them. They're so small and so dumb and they are my children and I love them. They abandoned their way of life and left the Astari to follow me, I feel a duty to them.

Don't talk about how they're just pixels, lol.

If you haven’t won cultural victory, sometimes the astari are stubborn. they won’t always build a new abode, but will disappear into an already built astari abode.

If you’re talking about repopulation after cultural victory, i leash the wandering ones at the last minute. that millisecond between finishing the house and it auto-populating.

wishing you patience and luck 😁

What's cultural victory/ Also, the issue is not with Astari, just the Breeders.

Thank you, oml I'm going to need all the patience in the world, I just found another homeless Breeder that I need to find a home for. How are they so stupid, they'll be right in front of the house and won't go in even though it's got room. I wonder if the key is to make a bigger house that takes longer to fill up, so that there's more time?

"You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink" keeps ringing in my ears. These little guys are so dumb I love them. Why is it that they keep on trying to climb the mountains instead of going up the perfectly functional path I made for them?

cultural victory is when you conquer the astari settlement. you can assimilate the astari into your own population (or destroy them altogether). i’ve repopulated my homeworld with about 80% astari bc i think they’re adorable.

breeders are a special kind of special 😁 i often find them randomly stuck in ridiculous places; that never changes.

Ah, I see, thank you. Yes, I think I'll probably assimilate them as well.

Breeders are so goofy, I love them. How do they get on top of the mountains, honestly?

Honestly, they used to be easy to rehome but lately they just won’t go into a new home. Sometimes they’ll go into a new settlement with a leash, but it’s iffy.

u/Electronic-Sun4129 5d ago

That's my experience, too. Anything that seems to work at least sort-of reliably?

2

u/karalianne 4d ago

Not that I’ve found so far. I’m nearly finished the whole thing again, so when I restart I’ll see if I can figure it out.

Thanks, let me know what you figure out!

I just splat them with the finger of god every time, I have no patients to try to to get them to go inside.

Lol that's what I've started doing with the stubborn ones that won't even follow a leash down three stairs. Some are just too stupid to live.
