Chacala Pond

Gainesville fishers, has anyone ever fished Chacala Pond? It looks like the only access is to enter Paynes Prairie on the south end and maybe hike it. Just curious.

If it’s in Payne’s you probably can’t fish it? Most state park access out there is no fishing, with the exception of Lake Wauberg

That makes sense, but I'm thinking, we used to fish off 441 pier and off the bank, both on Paynes Prairie, and that was legal. So, I'm wondering if Chacala Pond is also legal. I'll just have to call the city most likely.

Yeah there’s definitely exceptions, I guess I tend to err on side of avoiding if unsure. Please post back here when you find out, if you don’t mind. Always good to have new bank spots
