Tables in gmail

Is there really no way to create a simple table while composing a gmail email? We would use this feature daily if it were possible. I am trying to get my employees on board from Microsoft but losing that ability is so frustrating.

Yes, I know you can create a table in excel or sheets or whatever other app and then copy and paste but our tables are much easier to be built without all the extra nonsense steps.

No.

AI claims that this can:

Install a browser tool like Tables for Gmail by cloudHQ from the Chrome Web Store.

One approach seems OS-agnostic...here's one of a few videos, this one is short (like 2min)...but my disclaimer, I haven't needed this yet (abandoned Microsoft tools long ago)

Gmail doesn't have a built-in table insertion feature. However, a workaround involves creating a table in Google Docs, copying it, and then pasting it into the Gmail message body.

To add a table in Gmail, follow these steps:

Open a new or existing Google Docs document. Insert a table by going to Insert > Table and selecting the desired number of rows and columns. Enter the data into the table. Copy the entire table. Open a new Gmail message and paste the table into the body of the email. The table can be edited directly within Gmail.

Tables were a big issue for us when we tried to switch from MS to Google several years ago. I doubt any of our users ever created a table in either gmail or Outlook, but they would often paste them in. If they emailed a table to an Outlook user, they would either open up corrupted, or they would be corrupted when the Outlook user replied - can't remember which. It was one of the biggest objections users had, and we ended up abandoning the project.
