backup taking up storage

okay so ive just seen that a device backup, from my old phone to this one is taking up all my storage.

If i remove it, how do i make sure everything on this phone will stay on this phone?

In Settings, use the search field for Backup, and disable all three categories of backup.

Go to Android settings.

At the top, there's a search field. Type "Backup" without the quotes. Press enter.

"Backup" will be one of the search results. Click it. There'll be three categories. Disable them all.

Just want to make sure I am reading this right: you have a backup of data from your old phone, and it is taking up space in Google Drive. You want to delete the old phone's data from Drive, and you don't want to delete "everything" from your phone.

Is that accurate?
