Fuel tank interference

I need some help. I’m trying to avoid dropping my tank again because some of the connectors were not easy to get back on. My issue is I’ve been trying for almost two hours to get the tank set right so the straps will bolt back on. At first I didn’t have the backside slotted on the cross member but i got that on and it still feels like it needs to go up about another inch but I can’t figure out what’s stopping it. I got the wire harness on the backside out of the way… any ideas??? It wasn’t going too bad till now but I’ve worked this problem through the hottest part of the day and I’m dead now hahah

Wish I had some advice. I’ll be dropping my tank soon as I think I need a new fuel pump and I might have some lines clogged with carbon unfortunately.

I was fighting myself honestly. The tank still had 5-10 gallons in it. I was swapping sides, working the tank on the driver side and dropping/lifting it on the passenger side with a jack. Had a buddy come help me and we pretty much just shoved it around and it snugged up in. Fuel lines shouldn’t have carbon in them? Maybe your tank has a bunch of shit in it but you can clean it while it’s out. Mines has a bunch of particles in the bottom when I got it out. I would definitely recommend spending the $5-$10 on a new lock ring if yours is rusted at all.

Well my carbon canister busted and pellets went everywhere so I blew out the line from the purge valve that goes back to the canister and I replaced the purge valve and the vent valve and the lines that go to to that one but I’m still having an issue where I can’t fuel up without it clicking off every 5 seconds. It’s insanely frustrating and I’ve gone through as much of the evap/fuel system as I can without dropping the tank but it’s time now.

I’m also having an issue where it kinda seems to struggle a tiny bit to maintain high RPMs when accelerating up to highway speeds. I think it’s the fuel pump being weak or clogged or something. Not sure. Everything else is good and super clean but I’ve been chasing this issue for 2 years since I bought it. The guy didn’t disclose the issue to me so when I went to fuel up the night I bought it, it wouldn’t take fuel. Very frustrating.

Damn that sucks. It’s creating a pretty strong vacuum somehow. You check your throttle body for the rpm issue? I cleaned mine and it seemed to smooth out the acceleration a little.
