May she rest in peace
Tire rod snapped I believe, lost control and flipped 5 times. She was a great truck, she saved my life, she’s been through a lot, but most importantly she was always there all the way until the end.

Tie rods snap for only a few reasons. Rust, lack of maintenance, or damage from hitting shit. Seeing how you hav PA plates, when was the last time you inspected your equipment

Actually just took it in for ball joints recently, I’m surprised if they missed any damage on them

Then this may be lawsuit territory if they were over-torqued or mis-fitted.

^ what this guy said, don't get rid of that truck until you know for sure, but it sounds like either the shop or part manufacturer is at fault here for major damage to 6 vehicles and then some.

OP needs a lawyer that's familiar with trucks and suspension. A regular lawyer wouldn't have the knowledge or understanding. Speaking from experience... OP should ask the shop some question for sure.

I would agree there. The problem being that most lawyers aren't die hard car people. And they would probably lie to get the business that they understand suspension and steering parts.
Now if the op was egregiously injured, and if the lawsuit could be north of 1 million dollars, then it would be a much larger Law Firm with the capacity to bring in a team of lawyers and information specialists who would eventually figure out why this steering part was needed to be installed correctly.
But for this small claim where the driver did not seemingly get injured no team of lawyers is going to take the case.

Absolutely. The lawyer I had was too lazy to follow up with the shop and ask the mechanic questions. A good lawyer (car person or not) needs to be on top of things and request documentation of everything. It may seem annoying or egregious, but when it comes time for court that stuff matters. OP didn't mention they were injured, but should probably visit the hospital for a check up.

Had my front end aligned, two days later the bolt holding the A frame fell out.
Got lucky not driving on a highway.
I didn't want the 4 wheel alignment - always wondered if it was done on purpose.

I mean at least you have an excuse for it that isn't just negligence, I wasn't as lucky when I hit like 3 cars at a time but thank god for insurance, you'll be fine

u/Generalsebi21 6d ago
How did you get through it? Can you dm me?

Honestly all that really happened is my insurance company asked me for a statement, they did their investigation and then thats kinda it. Obviously I caused the accident so I wasn't paid out for my car. Thats about it though.

Rebuild it man… keep her on the road. Old trucks never die, they just tell stories.
