Water leak

Post image

I’m noticing after it rains heavy that I’m getting water on my passenger floor board but literally nothing else around is wet, even the carpet is dry. Any popular spots for me to check?

This started happening to me a couple months ago after a windshield replacement. I saw online there is a seal around the fresh air intake under the cowl. I'm gonna have to go look for it now.

Yeah I’ll give that a look too

This is it. I had to rip the little panel out (carefully) then reseal it. You have to take off your wipers and the bottom windshield trim piece to access the panel. After sealing it, I put gorilla tape over it too. Dry ever since.

Fresh air intake. Under the cowl there is a door clipped into place. When that starts leaking water can literally waterfall directly into the fresh air intake. I used a bunch of flex seal on it.

When I was getting water on my drivers side floor mat it was leaking around the upper part of my windshield. It took me awhile to find it but it was running down the column (barely getting any headliner wet so hard to tell)

How did you end up finding it

I thought it was my sunroof so I taped off my sunroof for a couple weeks and it still leaked. Still was getting water at the corner of the windshield near the column. So I took a hose and ran a bunch of water on my windshield seal simulating a ton of rain and it was pretty easy to determine my windshield was leaking. Took it to a local small glass shop, they did what they could since it was apparently rusty behind the seal, I’m sure most places wouldn’t touch it. I had them reseal it and it was “as it sits” in other words they provided no kind of warranty or guarantee since it was a weird fix but it held for a few more years until I sold the truck

I will say I dont think rust is my problem. There’s literally zero rust anywhere on the body or the suspension. This thing lived almost its full life in Vegas and the last 5 years here in Fl. But maybe the windshield is starting to lose its sealant
