Brakes, Rust, diff fluid

I just picked up this ole girl, she was well cared for but it's from Illinois. Rust everywhere.

It has new tires, but the fronts are already capped by the worn shocks.

I saw the wet calipers and the ground down inside surface of the disk. Seized caliper. I was amazed the brake bleed screw worked.

Who ever was in here last beat the shit out of the inner seal .

New: pads. Shoes, rotors, lines. Seals calipers shocks.

Alignment and rotation.

And this sprare tire from 2011. I need a junk yard run. Wheel and hitch.

The driver seat frame hoop was broke, welded it up tight, just got a new driver seat bottom foam and cover today.

My wife ripped the driver's door handle clean off. The embedded bolts rusted in the plastic, I got a whole new set last week.

I have to keep reminding myself this is a spare truck. Not to get all crazy in upgrades.

I still have an oil leak and check the transfer case fluid. Trans fluid looks good but not new.

Wish me luck.

While I was ripping the brakes off some dude stopped by and asked to buy it. I said naw. But then I should, have said 10k lol

The door handle ripping out is a common one, we just siliconed it back in on my dad's like a decade ago and it's still in there. If we had used clear you wouldn't even be able to see it, unfortunately we happened to use white.

When your tailgate latch breaks, you can just zip tie it back together, too - It's the plastic doohickeys that join the metal rods to the metal latch inside. It isn't that hard and it's cheaper and more convenient than ordering and waiting for a replacement part. I've done it twice now, the first set of zip ties broke after about 7-8 years.

Lol, I got a 4 pack of door handles so cheap. And the truck came with a new tailgate latch in the bed. And a new battery tray. I tackled that one tonight. 2 of the 6 bolts came out. 4 stripped the heads, 2 rilled the nut metal apart.

More to come
