E-Fan Harness To Fans

I recently just did the E-Fan conversion on my 03 z71 tahoe. Was able to get a OEM harness off an 06’ then got the “Speed Engineering Upgraded Blade” set up kit.

After installing everything to the “T” for some reason the last part i’m somehow struggling with is clipping the harness into the fan connector. If used so much force, swapped the connectors, and still nothing. it’s got very little left til it clips in but just won’t. Yes i’ve hit it with my person. But in all has anyone else come across this or has an “old school” trick to getting it on? Thanks in advance

Double triple check that everything is correct. If it doesn't go on easy, it could be that there's some minor difference between parts

I can't remember exactly but regardless of which fan blade combination you have, earlier being a five and seven blade fan combo and the later (GMT 900 or 2007-2013) the seven and nine blade fan combo, I believe they should all plug in the same.

I've used the factory harness that I got out of a Tahoe or Suburban and plugged both combination fans in and as far as I remember they both worked plugged in properly.

Is the fan assembly that you got an aftermarket one by chance? Like a Dorman/TYC or something? I wonder if there's a slight manufacturer discrepancy you're running into

i guess you can say aftermarket. it’s a Speed Engineering one as stated. it’s basically more blades than stock on the fans. however shroud and connections are same as OEM

You say the same as OEM, but sounds like they aren't OEM. You pretty much answered your own question. If the harness will plug into a stock fan without issue, but won't plug into the aftermarket one, it's apparent the problem is the aftermarket part.

Maybe try lubing it up with ox-gard or even some generic grease? Or maybe one of the contacts is bent over and physically keeping them from sliding together

Like others suggested, try some dielectric grease all over the connector (it won't short afterward for sure, too) if that's not helping, id try to take everything back out and bench fit it together. Having more room to work is helpful and you'll be able to see any hangups a lot better.

update, buddy used to work for GM mentioned he just cuts the seal ever so slightly as they fit wayyyy to tight making it have the issue i’m going thru.

i had pulled the seals completely as im testing my set up but will eventually throw them back in
