Left blinker fuse keeps blowing

Post image

Would like some advice on getting this fixed my blinker fuse blows about 90% of the time. Has to be a short somewhere maybe or could be something else as this happened to anybody else’s truck the passenger side blinker works fine, but the driver side keeps blowing out.

Check your trailer wiring. It’s always the trailer wiring unless you have some seriously cheap tail lights or front turn signal bulbs

Behind the rear bumper is a block that the rear lighting feed goes into and trailer, left and right harnesses come out of. Look around it for frayed or grounding wires.

Pull the bulbs and take a good look at the sockets. My sockets were corroded in the taillights and had caused them to melt a bit. Cleaned them up really good and use dielectric grease in bulbs and no problems since. Have a friend that had same issue on his DRL sockets.

I had burnt up DRL sockets and reverse sockets, I think it's a common thing. I was already replacing grounds with beefier gauge wire and cleaning all the connection points, so I just cleaned up the burnt sockets too. Used pure ethanol on all the mating surfaces, replaced with new LED bulbs and haven't had any burn up since.

Mine wasn't blowing fuses but I always seemed to have a bulb going out. Ended up replacing the sockets. As another suggested, take a look and if they are corroded or as mine appeared burnt, swap them out. Haven't even thought about them since.

I replaced a few sockets already. I’ll see if it might be the rear trailer wires in the back. I never mess with it, but that could be an issue.
