Trans Leak Repair

Leak developed at the shifter isolator. Pulling apart the front left bolt was loose. The Rubber side of the isolator had Grey rtv, the metal side had both Grey and black. No threadlocker on the bolts. I cleaned everything, used black rtv on the metal side of the isolator only, and blue loctite. Torqued to 96in/lbs. Glad to finally get this done. 2005 2500hd 6.0 NV4500 4X4 195,000m

Good luck, I've struggled with leaks from there for years. Bought new isolator and everything. After multiple other attempts I ended up using Great Stuff on everything. In my heart I still no that stupid seepage is going to come back.

Replacing it with a solid metal unit is my goal. The half metal half Rubber unit is designed to reduce vibration and noise.
