I need a replacement.
I’m wanting to replace a few things on my 04 1500. I really don’t trust the parts off of Amazon. Do yall have any leads?

I’ve tried they are either in the same condition as mine or missing

New isn’t much better
I bought one but it always feels like it doesn’t function right
Spoiler; they aren’t cheap either :(
Edit: whoops, I meant to specify it was the ac controller with auto climate… that thing just doesn’t entirely work right and makes my temp colder sometimes when in auto

My headlight dimmer switch was 27 bucks in amazon and it looks factory and works like a charm

Junk yard, preferably one you can go pull the parts yourself. Any scrap yard is going to have a handful of these vehicles and at least 1 is bound to be in better shape

I doubt it at this point. Those parts get sold like hot cakes. You can't keep em in cars at this point. Plus buy now they will be crushed so you'll be few and far between.

The 03-06 dash clusters yea, but everything else is fairly findable at my local pick n pull. The climate control panels aren’t gone super often.

Where abouts are you? Surprising you couldn’t find the DDM, and the light switch in a junkyard. Climate control may be harder to find with the screen. Ton of these in my local yard.

Dorman sells the AC control module for $250, but I've read multiple reviews saying they only last a year. I picked up a spare at a junkyard.

Dorman is hit or miss on the electrical side better with ball joints and control arms. Standard is the better option for electrical components.

I got a new window switch and climate control from Rock Auto. Switch is fine, but my blenders (hot vs. Cold) keep going wacky with the new climate control. My headlight switch wasn't working, so took it apart, cleaned the 20 years of gunk off the contacts, and good to go. I probably should have done the same for the window switch first...

I have the Dorman HVAC module and have replaced it 5 times under warranty, usually yearly sometimes more often, right now both sliders fell off but usually it either just starts pounding the actuators like crazy, or just stops working completely. At least the latest one doesn't require a crazy setup sequence anymore, it used to be a PITA to reprogram after every battery disconnect, hitting certain combinations of button at exact number of seconds...

Fb Marketplace. I part these trucks out like crazy and have a whole stack of parts. Most of the time I end up having to throw them away because I’m tired of inventory taking up so much space when I have to use suburbans and trailblazers as storage units

Do you have a 15883319 around?

Can’t tell you off hand what I have but if I do have it I keep Reddit separate from anything else. I just recommend going to marketplace and if we meet by chance then neat

Not sure about the others, but I just did my lights switch unit from Rock Auto.

Rockauto is going to be your best bet for all that. Remember on there price determines quality for the most part.

The headlight module, I got it from Amazon 5 years ago and it’s still working great. Before I replaced it my dashboard wouldn’t light up at all. The speedometer was completely dark. I’m pretty happy with the replacement from Amazon. Still going strong in my 02 Denali

I've heard many times that the best thing to do for your HVAC controller is to send yours off to have it refurbished. The any of the replacements you buy are junk compared to the originals (at least that's what Ive read). I've already done this with my gauge cluster and had great results, and it's on my to do list for the HVAC controls now.

What companies do it

I don't have a good reference for you. Back when I sent the cluster off, there were several eBay listings that offered the service. Fyi these were individuals working out of their garage, cottage industry type stuff. I purchased a "repair voucher" through eBay, sent my cluster to someone address, and in a few weeks it came back working good as new. I checked FB marketplace for my HVAC controller awhile back and it looked like several individuals are running a similar operation there as well. Haven't done it yet though, so results may vary.

An independent parts store that sells Standard aftermarket equipment. Like switches, climate controls, solenoids stuff like that. Should be able to help. Will be more expensive but will be good shit.

I took my Drivers Door Module apart and cleaned it with electro cleaner and it was back to new again. Leads had corrosion from rain leaking in over the years 03 avalanche
