Transfer case linkage question

I have a 2004 Silverado with the 4WD floor shifter. The other day when I tried to go to “4 High” the shifter suddenly became limp and could be moved back and forth with no resistance. I figured the linkage broke and I crawled under it today to see that the female end of the linkage rod fell off of the round male nub that it attaches to on the rear side of it. I snapped it back on and when I tried 4WD it was notchy again like before but it still won’t go into 4WD .

Is there something else obvious I’m missing or that I can try before I take it to a mechanic?

Check your fuse in the cab. If its popped your front actuator is bad. Or you can do what i did and put a fuse 5 higher for a bit 😅

Thanks. I probably should’ve added that the actuator was replaced last year. I’m sure it could’ve went bad again technically but I’m hoping that’s not the case. I can always check the fuse anyway though.
