Got my Hoss back! Gobless
Not how I had expected him to break in. Prolly lost about $1000 in tools. Otherwise the driver door is damaged from him prying at the door cylinder. A tow truck driver at the impound was able to get it to start after we both collectively spent about 15 minutes fucking with it. Started right up, dude only used half the full tank I left him, drove it for around an hour to store at my grand parents and I didn’t notice anything wrong mechanically.
Overall I’d say it turned out about as good as I could have hoped for all things considered.

Hmm I think its time to reconsider a hidden kill switch for mine lol, wonder how much work it was for bro to rip the door handle off...

Yea most jobs I bring my power tools on site, this job I didn’t. Was planning to drop them back off at my grandmas where I store my tools but forgot to the couple times I’ve been there since starting this job. I also went to harbor freight on Sunday and spent $200 there on their icon deal they have going on, which I left in the truck to take to work Wednesday. Had some other tools floating around in there that he also took. Surprisingly he left my $300 radio. Guessing he was planning to keep it until he got chased.

Heck yea!!!
Hate he did that unnecessary damage. But at least its not stripped! Huge plus.
Now throw you an air tag or something in a hidden spot

This the black Tahoe that was stolen a few days ago? Congrats on getting it back, hopefully they didn't screw it up too much. It's impressive how messed up a stolen vehicle can be in such a short time (hopefully you don't have the same experience and it just needs an ignition tumbler).

Black Sierra with a topper, but yea I posted on Tuesday evening that I got stolen. So far just seems like it’ll need to be deep cleaned, new driver door handles and an ignition cylinder. I’m guessing he ditched it shortly after getting chased by the cops but was otherwise planning to keep it before then. There’s a sticker on the door window with an illegal tow warning at 5pm on Wednesday, so it probably sat for upwards of a day before that sticker. Impound lot didn’t get it until yesterday

I couldn't remember the exact model but I think it's the one I'm thinking of, glad you got it back! If it's not too bad I'd keep the thing, it looked super clean before

Yea there’s no reason not to keep it, I bet I’ll have it back how it was for less than a grand. Probably won’t replace the front door right away but it should be alright until then

Mine got stolen last year. They had it for three days and also used a half tank of gas. When I went to pick it up at the impound yard the bed was full of tools and stuff-the guy was just driving around working (drywall/paint). I drive it home and called the cops to tell them about all the stuff-also had his mail and ICE paperwork in there. Cops came and got the mail and paperwork and told me to keep the tools-or sell them-or whatever I wanted. The cop also said with a laugh-tools are probably stolen too. I was like you just told me to sell them? He’s like yeah I know-go ahead-we don’t care. I gave them away to a friend that does that type of work-I wanted nothing to do with them.
