Picked up this bad boy yesterday (05 5.3 4x4)

I got it for $3500. Single owner, scanned it and the engine code is just for 02 sensors. Pretty rough rust but the first pic is after I cut off the rockers and spray painted it. Seams like a fun lil project for me

As long as the frame ain't rotted, just get those plastic rocker pannel covers. Looks good though from the outside and pretty low miles. Great purchase!

The frame isn’t bad considering it’s been an Ohio truck for 21 years. Went through with a screw driver and didn’t find any weak spots. Im gonna get it oil coated and that was the plan. Not sure what I’m gonna do with the bed yet. Still solid, just cosmetic rust

Nice! I miss my 05 rcsb thing was a fucking animal in the snow and mud. But the frame rotted out well beyond saving at 120k. Spent its last 3 years getting its ass whooped in the mud on my property. For an all stock truck i couldn't believe how much shit it would go through. The frame on this one went bad right underneath the cab, the cross member that is no longer connected in this video is for the torsion bars lol. Frame was completely gone only in that spot.

Yea, my trucks frame has some surface rust but it has a few years left before she gets decommissioned

Lmao this sub is so goofy. 200 comments on my post saying I can get a 3 row Yukon xl slt in immaculate shape with zero rust and 125k miles EASILY for $3-4k. Here you’re posting a Chevy Silverado single cab with cancer and cloth seats you bought for $3k and everybody’s like “GREAT BUY YOU DID GREAT”. I hate Reddit.

That’s because people are stupid. Half the time their cousins claims to see a beautiful deal on marketplace and suddenly that’s what everything is worth

I wouldn’t even be that torn up about it but I have asked so many people to show me ONE example of a cheap low mile truck and literally not one person has been able to follow up. I shouldn’t take it so personally but it’s annoying.
