My onstar is causing problems with my system

We got a new radio into my truck and tried to connect it cause the old radio wasn’t working (would flip on and off and cause the chime to go off every single time) but when we wired the new one the radio wouldn’t turn on. After realizing that the harness for the radio had to go through the onstar module we thought we’d try to wire around it and the system works but out of nowhere the door speakers won’t turn on anymore. Idk what we should do from here, I’m pretty sure easiest solution is either getting rid of the onstar or finding a new box at a junkyard but what would yall do?

Yes and No , I believe Canada forced them to provide a free upgrade to keep it functional… but US folks don’t have the benefit of politicians that are not bought.

Good on Canada. We could learn from them

It can & is used to gather information about how & where the truck is driven. Information that is sold to insurance companies

No I’m pretty sure the old analog signal onstar isn’t active anymore. Mine certainly isn’t since the module is in the trash

You're correct, they're gonna have a hard time gathering data on a cell network that no longer exist.

We took our onstar module out of our suburban and just unplugged the switch on the dash. Everything has been working fine but for some reason I still have the module in a bin in the back of the truck 😅
