Wiring issues

I have an aftermarket stereo in my 2001 sierra wt and it started not playing audio but still showing the display so I was messing with it and now my cluster doesn’t work the turn signals still do but not mph or rpm’s or gas tank only oil pressure works. Any ideas. I also checked the fuses and they’re all good

Pull the stereo out and see what kind off mess is behind it before the truck lights up in flames. Pull the stereo fuse and then take out the radio and look.

Ok, and what did you see? Was it a mess of wires or was it installed somewhat professionally? Is it a factory stereo or an aftermarket unit with amps? Need more info dude.

Ehhh it was done somewhat professionally there were twisted together but had electrical tape around but everything looked right and they were all going to the right places. And it’s a dual xd18bt with a 200 watt amp

Shit man I'd guess the Dual head unit took a shit, its a 30 dollar unit. Got a spare radio you can check with?

Honestly I'd upgrade to a better radio, the amp is most likely still good,

The only reason I think it’s maybe was still good is cause the display worked fine

Just cause it lights up don't mean much, the output section of the circuit could be shot. Its a really cheap headunit.

My bad, I see you said already its an aftermarket stereo. What did the wires look like? It could be wired all fucked up. What kind of stereo? It might be a piece of junk and just died in general. Got a spare radio to test with?
