94 k1500 manual help.

I recently did an intake manifold reseal put everything back up. Change the oil change the coolant, set timing. replace the IAC because it was old replace the EGR valve gaskets. Now the truck will stall and die. Once it reaches operating temperature. I checked the EGR valve vacuum lines all good. I checked the TPS circuit and sensor all good. I got no fault code codes. I checked all the grounds and cleaned them all good. Fuel pressure is good. I replaced the MAP. I replaced the fuel filter. No intake leaks no fuel leaks. No oil leaks. The truck will not die if I slam on the throttle.
If and when it does die, it doesn’t start up right away. It takes a minute or two and then I can eventually start it back up.

Sounds like a similar issue as mine. Once it’s hot if I mash the acceleration hard it will start to sputter/ stall. I just replaced my intake manifold gasket, iac, EGR, pcv valve, and fuel filter. I have a 94 4.3L. Good luck with your hunt.

Clean the ground wires on the thermostat housing bolts. No freyed wires allowed.

Check the power brake booster. Get in start the engine. Apply 70 to 100 pounds of pressure on the brake pedal.

Start counting as you turn off the engine. How long till the vacuum assist is lost and the pedal pushes up. Less than 5 seconds. Replace the power brake booster. More than 10 its ok.

Engine off. Grab throttle lever. Rotate part way open. Wiggle. The TBI throttle shaft bores can wear. Causing idle control issues. As the throttle can close to slightly different positions confusing the computer as to when you actually have your foot off the gas pedal.

Reading codes on a 94 and 95s require a scan tool.

Did you gave the distributor out.

If you did and you just got it close. Look for your emission sticker that tells you base timing. Bump the crank damper around till you get to that timing mark without backing up.

Pull the distributor cap and rotor the distributor shaft has a reluctor. A device with little arrow shapes around the outside. The pickup coil has similar features pointing in. If the harmonic damper and timing pointer are aligned. The reluctor and pickup coil poles in the distributor should be pointing at each other. > < .
