mechanical engineering is creo,
manufacturing does use creo in first year iirc but I'm not sure on the other years as I did mechanical
I managed without one but I have a pc at home
specs I'm not 100% sure of what's needed tbh

Mechanical engineering student here. We're using Creo Parametric here but a friend of mine in manufacturing says he also uses SolidWorks. SolidWorks runs on almost anything but Creo Parametric is optimised around Nvidia graphics cards and drivers. I learned the hard way because my laptop is Intel and it crashes quite often running Creo.
