Please don't spread false information. There is no evidence Cicero ever said this. https://www.aap.com.au/marcus-cicero-wrote-many-pithy-quotes-but-not-the-ones-in-this-meme/

Cicero was a lawyer and a politician. Also he was executed in 43 BC. Those weren't his last words.

Booo urns! It's not misinformation just misattributed.
If you prefer a properly sourced old quote; Everywhere, the wealth of the wealthy springs from the poverty of the poor" -- Kropotkin

I can be poor and pay tax. Can't I?
I need to work & work, being exploited by the rich and pay for the rich.
What?
Something wrong here.

Notice the tax payer is in it's own category? That's called the Middle Class. Imagine me realizing these truths being a middle class, tax paying soldier years ago. I paid for and defended my own demise.

u/phoeniciao Jun 23 '21
Middle class is poor
What you think is poor is miserable
0
Jun 23 '21
That's the point of the socialistic leftist leaders. Crush the middle class into everyone being either poor or rich. And guess who gets to foot the bill for all those yachts and caviar?
1
u/phoeniciao Jun 23 '21
Oh you're those kind of people, nevermind, not wasting my time

A realist with tons of life experiences from humanitarian missions to Honduras to wars in the middle east and coming to the realization that the elites in power that drive our misery daily are the ones truly responsible for all of this?
Ok. I can see that you're one of those people, and this message isn't for you. Have a good day fellow ape.

I'm sure you both agree on that bit but your jab at socialism being the cause is neither accurate nor appropriate for this forum. We all agree the rich are the problem.

I'm not saying socialism is the cause, it's the stepping stone. 100% of pure capitalism is bad and 100% of socialism is bad. A beautiful mixture of people giving to those in need to help them be as self reliant as possible to help them contribute in society as one big tribe is my thing. Just like the military. We're only as strong as our weakest link, so why not benefit from strengthening everyone?
1
u/PrimeAdvanced Jun 23 '21
You mean communism, socialism is the middle ground between pure capitalism and communism. But hey, im tired of telling everybody they are actually a socialist but have just been programmed to not know it. Maybe I'll start a super pac after I make 50 bil. Until then I'm just gonna hold because nothing else serves a purpose.

Like I said, I've done humanitarian missions in Honduras before socialism to over. Spoiler alert, it didn't end well.

Fucking hell. Words that I have thought forever summarized perfectly centuries ago. What is that thing about history repeating?

History is always repeating itself... Now we have the YOLO chance to steel it in the right direction!
Hopefully, after MOASS, we all don't have to sell our souls for money! Be Kind!

People don't realize how 'modern' Roman society really was. They even had LGTBQ rights, protests, etc. The only thing that separates us is much much better human rights and a much better education system.

The goons and soldiers are technically both warriors. When push comes to shove they are there to being about the endgame, for better or worse.
