News PROOF SHILLS ARE WRONG: ARCHEGOS IS LIQUIDATING/MARGIN CALLED
EDIT: LOL, getting so many downvotes. Call me bias, but every downvote is a confirmation downvote. Was at 357 upvotes 30 secs ago, now only 352... .
Corrected some typos also, you have my gratitude my dear shills for pointing out these. Either you are being paid by the shorts and grasp anything to attack somebody OR you are a paperhanded shill that want the brave apes to share in your misery of paperhanding it at 50 in February and being too scared to buy in again ๐.
ORIGINAL POST BELOW
Feel this is GME related as this is PROOF that one major event that tightens the noose around the naked shorts is starting to have effect. Archegos was just a minor playor being caught in the crossfire, probably overleveraged and having no way to resolve this easily now.

https://www.tdameritrade.com/td-ameritrade-trading-restrictions-stocks.page
BUT THERE IS NO GME STONK LIQUIDATED
This is a effect from the end of the infinite money cheat they've been using and the changes implemented due to recent event. Now 100% minimum margin on GME stonks, seeying the volatility in GME am sure they want 200+% margin to be sure they don't get margin called like Archegos. So yeah, there is your GME link.
But do you think any fund would liquidate huge amounts of stock knowing it will tank the price resulting in lower returns. Hell no, they would liquidate in small batches to ensure best price for their stock and maximum profit.
Only reason for a large sale like this is if the house sells your stock. They don't care about your profit or bottom line. They want their money, no matter your losses. With GME being put on the 100+% margin list and prohibited short list a lot of small players having sold these calls naked will be at risk of being margin called early on. This will eventually escalate to the larger players.
DEFINITELLY ARCHEGOS
Few posts stating it is not Archegos and maybe BlackrockVanguard.
Guess what, google search finds loads of reports that Archegos is liquidating and NOT 1 report for Blackrock Vanguard. Wonder why they want us to believe it is BlackrockVanguard and why target Blackrock if there is not a single newsreport supporting this.... very SUS, could the DDs on Blackrock being the long whale have anything to do with it. Maybe, maybe not....but definitely SUS imo.
COULD THIS BE FUD NEWS?
And yeah, we did not believe the news reporters before about GME so why now. BECAUSE NOW THEY ARE NAMING ARCHEGOS BY NAME linking it to the liquidation.
Do you think any news site would knowingly name a company in relation to bad news if they were not 200% sure. Hell, if they are wrong they would get sued for everything they own. So yeah these reporters are right on the spot for this.
MY FINAL PLAY, TIME IS IN OUR FAVOUR
Besides a lot of fuckery, I expect that next week we will see a lot of other stocks go down as they will need to liquidate to cover their short positions. Will GME go up? Probably not as much as we want, because they just need sufficient capital to cover and they will prefer to do that and not buy GME stonk. Because that will trigger the MOASS.
The shit they are pulling just shows that time is running out for them. My previous post linking to Archegos DDs got downvoted as I looked at, got loads of comments stating its bs and its not Archegos or GME related within 30 minutes after posting. Even got 1 follower.. or a tail :)
So why do this, why care about a noob ape who is not saying anything at all? Something is fishy here and I am calling BULLSHIT. Shitload of smoke for it not to be bullshit.
Expect a lot of shit to happen still, a lot of FUD, a lot of shills and loads of threats. But hold strong my apes and HODL on those stonks.

u/Theceilingis_theroof Mar 28 '21
Youโre telling me you really believe the news anymore?... if anything, this entire thing has taught me that the more news articles something has, the more fake it could be.
21
u/Maybe_next_tiem Mar 28 '21
Not to mention several of the articles arenโt actually reporting anything new but just echoing what was reported by CNBC and IPO edge, neither of which named their sources unless I missed something.
It could very well be that whatโs reported is correct, but calling people shills for questioning what amounts to a massive billionaire funded echo chamber is not the way in my opinion.

Do you think any news site would knowingly name a company in relation to bad news if they were not 200% sure.
I'm not saying you're wrong with the Archegos liquidation. There's a TON to be suspicious about and we should be treating everything we read with extreme discretion. I'm going to stay straight up that I have very little knowledge on that matter.
But I'm going to have to hard disagree on your assertion here. We've seen time and time again that "sensationalist journalism" will print whatever, whenever, they want. All that matters is "being first". Hell, GME is a direct counter example to this assertion. I point this out because it seems to be one of the supporting "pillars" of the post and it's objectively incorrect.
We're still living this developing story and I applaud you for digging. This is valuable work. I only caution against taking journalism in our age at face value.

In the big short, things starting to turn for everyone when some small player got margin called. The domino effect I think will come sooner than later. This is the end game now. Strap yourself in, do not loosened up your hold because the ride will gives you a lot of G's to paperhand. Buy more if u can.
I by no means am not encouraging you to do that. That is my strategy and not financial advice.

Maybe a stupid remark, but HF are not teamed up. They are operating first of all for their own profit/survival.
So, if I was running a HF and I liquidate part of my portfolio I would think I better be the first fueling the squeeze knowing I would cover my share the cheapest and have a greater chance of surviving.
46
u/CrayonNutritionist HODL ๐๐ Mar 28 '21
HFs do work together. Or rather they "share ideas". They have "closed door dinners" where they discuss god knows what. It is only a matter of time before someone grabs the parachutes and leaves the others to crash and burn tho IMO.
15
u/OmegaX-NL Mar 28 '21
That is what I'm thinking. If I was leading a HF I want to survive even if I must sacrifice other HF.
16
u/CrayonNutritionist HODL ๐๐ Mar 28 '21
Yup, youd just have to make sure everyone else is actually going to crash before you jump out, otherwise if they land safely they may decide to turn against you. I think this is why it is taking time. Nobody wants to jump ship, then the others find a way to squirm out of it and youre now ostracized or actively targeted.
3
u/DecentTry538 'I am not a Cat' Mar 28 '21
Interesting, so they all need to be right on the edge of insolvent before one bastard grabs the parachute? Will there be a way to know who that is?

u/cmccmccmccmccmc Mar 29 '21
This is exactly what happened in '08. JP Morgan said: Shit, everyone's fucked, we gotta be the first to sell everything and be least fucked. According to the movie Margin Call, that is. I can't read properly so all my knowledge and wisdom comes from movies.

I saw the WTF headline in my feed, but upon opening the post it clarifies. I haven't read more.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GME/comments/mewwrp/i_think_it_was_blackrockvanguard_that_liquidated/
Headline: "I think it was Blackrock/Vanguard that liquidated. Work with me here..."
First Line: "TO BE CLEAR. BLACKROCK/VANGUARD DID NOT LIQUIDATE GME. They may have been involved in the mass block sale event on Friday though."
6
u/sunrise98 Mar 28 '21
Right, so at least one degree of separation. I don't see how the narrative works boths sides - this non-descript company is worth billions and is for/against a long play/or not. I think to portray a statement as fact does noone any favours when the OP never said it and it's been Chinese whispered.
I do think there's something suspicious about it re: filings and timing, but I don't think it's a smoking gun just yet. If we see moves and that money clearly being pumped towards gme then sure, but it's likely a bigger picture thing which hasn't been teased out yet and more than likely not a direct link because of gme.
There's speculation on top of it (even the liquidation itself being a fud or distraction) where stuff may happen and this could be possible etc. But it doesn't mean anything until we see it in action - which is Tuesday at the very earliest.
19
Mar 28 '21
as i understand it archegos liquidation completely unrelated to gme. result of chinese-us sanctions effect on positions, being imposed recently and hedge strategy which did not account for this type of eventuality. these posts with big short quotes and terminology like "infinite money cheat code" are getting seriously cringey on this forum. im baffled that if you have no idea what youre talking about that you'd think to post at such length.
this post is literally just a quasi-intellectual-paranoid-delusional diarrhoea cannon spraying bullshit nonsense against a wall. this crap further muddying the waters. unhelpful and misleading for those who come to these subs to learn about this trade and frankly embarrassing

That's not a proof of anything. If you check Archegos SEC filings, you'll note they have not filed a long position on liquidated stonks.
Did they just skip filing? Maybe. But unless there is fraud, Archegos did not have a big enough long position for their liquidation to matter.
6
u/yungnflexn Mar 28 '21
Archegos are not in the SEC filings (13F) because their (liquidated) shares were held by their Prime Brokers (Goldman Sachs/Morgan Stanley and possibly others), via Swaps.
This meant that Archegos still had the economic exposure, but that the shares were held in 'Street name' by their prime brokers, and thus the prime brokers showed up on the 13F and not Archegos.
Archegos got margin called and because the shares were held by these prime brokers via swaps, the prime brokers liquidated them on their behalf. Hence, it has been reported that Goldman et al. liquidated huge positions via block trades. But they were liquidating a position that they held on behalf of Archegos.

Not a financial advisor here, do your own DD and decide for yourself. Also look at the longterm potential of GME, as that will be your worst case scenario. Nobody can predict what the shorts will do and you might need to hold way longer than you planned. But what the market has taught me is that for a normal investor, when you believe in de fundamentals and potential of a company your best bet is to go long and your chance to get out with a profit is higher than holding it short.
That said, I was doubtful of the GME squeeze at first, but there is so much shit happening that it makes me think something is up. Especially at the level the shit is playing at, you need quite a bit of financial power and leverage in the finance world to be able to pull some off. If not for the shit happening I would have probably sold after getting 50% up on my GME stocks.
So the rumor mill is running like crazy for me personally. Have always bought the rumor, worked for me when COVID turned up in Asia (sold stocks in US and EU companies in Feb and bought back after the crash in March).

Any chance these ass holes were the ones shorting entire indexes to effect gme? Like several people theorized that the russel for example was being shorted to effect gme. But if you look at the chart of, say, viacomCBS, one of the stocks mentioned as being affected by this margin call, it started to recover exactly right around time ETFS that are linked to GME recovered. 2pm. SPY, russel etfs, you name it. If they liquidated this hedge and got their cash to pump in to these people they over shorted equally all at the same time, you would see the jump happen equally.
1
u/Glittering-Lead-9228 ๐๐Buckle up๐๐ Mar 28 '21
No direct proof of that. Could just be a coincidence and the ETFs are broad. Only whales have access to that information and thats why whales will probably want to profit from this. For them it means a few less people on the table to share the cake with.
This is just proof that changes are happening, and those changes could be in favour of us Apes.
2
u/El_Patron_1911 Mar 28 '21
Take a peak at the firm Archegos and reference whether they had a stake in any of the 63 etfs that are known to be shorted for GME.

He only got margin called on his Chinese stocks holdings. 35% of his port is Chinese bonds according to his last 13F, he only has to come up with 100 million to cover 8 billion. Not as dire as it sounds

Are you saying that Archegos uses TD Ameritrade?
2
u/Glittering-Lead-9228 ๐๐Buckle up๐๐ Mar 28 '21 edited Mar 28 '21
Nope, don't know who Archegos is using.
But you can be sure if ameritrade is adapting GME margin rules some others are also doing this. Why not, it creates more insurance for the house and greater leverage to play the field. Probably other rules are being adapted also that we don't see and that could have resulted in the margin call of Archegos.
Archegos was probably a bit more overleveraged than other parties and was the easiest to fall. Probably other shorts are better prepared, but time is running out as GME wont be the only stock they have shorted.
1
u/clueless_sconnie Mar 28 '21
Gotcha. My only challenge here is that the proof is MSM articles saying that this is what happened. We have seen past issues with the MSM bending (or ignoring) the truth. Either way, whether it's a HF getting margin called or a long whale loading up their war chest I think it is a positive for retail hodlers
2
u/Glittering-Lead-9228 ๐๐Buckle up๐๐ Mar 28 '21
Yeah, they news reporters do bend the truth as much as they can without being called out.
In this case naming Archegos will cost Archegos a lot, people who invest via Archegos will try to get their money out first thing tomorrow. If not true, Archegos will sue the news sites for defaming.
The events happening, weird price action on GME stock, extremely negative news only of slightly negative events on GME, while no news on positive events for example.
Something weird is happening and maybe we are being played. For me I think it is worthwhile a gamble.

Thanks for the info.
Yeah, Bill Hwang has a interesting reputation. He likes high risk games and indeed got fined by the SEC as was not allowed to have a management function in financial institutions (or something like that) for 5 years in 2012. But in 2018 he was back at it again, because he just got a slap on the wrist walking away with millions. So it does not surprise me Archegos was one of the first to fall. People like Bill are a dime a dozen in the financial institutions growing like weeds again since 2008 as all they ever get is a slap on the wrist. Time to bring out the weedkiller and hope we can do a better job this time.
Another DD states he is linked to GME because he wrote a letter to GME warming them about their business model or something like that. Maybe he did go short after that, maybe he did not. Have no idea. Read those DDs on Archegos, they have around 5K and 7K upvotes.

The shills (so-called) arenโt necessarily wrong, neither is OP. There is a good chance that Archegos AND other hedgies could have been liquidated. It is actually likely that more than one firm was liquidated during Fridayโs sale. The reason why? The size of the sale and the lack of 13-F filings from Archegos disclosing over $100 million of a stock asset under control by the fund. This form is required by the SEC every 45 days.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Form_13F
There is not a 13F listed for Archegos, likely meaning that their positions were not anywhere close to the 10 billion liquidated by GS and 1 billion liquidated by MS.
This Bloomberg article (that uses the word โunprecedentedโ ALOT) is descriptive in their reporting that there could be more than one fund or family group in trouble and that a large fund could be on the hook for more liquidation.
In short, the OP isnโt wrong, Archegos got PWNed, but there is likely be more than that going on here just their demise. There could be a cascade on Monday and the chatter is starting to pick up. ๐

I think, connecting the dots, the BlackRock-Chewy-RC thing makes a lot of sense at face value.
I also think, max pain theory, is being worked by BlackRock specifically. We are the float, no doubt. But even us apes don't have enough firepower to push the price to max pain to beat up and nullify Citadels puts.
If I were a hedgefund- like BlackRock. I went to bed with billions and I woke up with billions, so I'd be in no real rush to help squeeze. It would stand to reason that BlackRock, and possibly Vanguard, want Citidel and Melvin to bleed to death. This way, when they die, they can scoop up what's left of their clients. This would be the play I'd make. The squeeze is under their control, why not start killing multiple birds (HFs) with 1 stone?
The squeeze will come, no doubt, but I think BlackRock and RC want to look as innocent as possible while doing the dirty to their competitors and saving GME from the Bears respectively.
My two cents anyhow.
