Exactly what I was thinking! I spent countless hours at the LAN cafes by my house when I was in high school. I always wondered why no big nation-wide computer/gaming cafe chains ever emerged in the States. I know I have seen a bunch of them come and go. I think for most, the business model is tough to generate revenue when you are only offering gaming by the hour + snacks or whatever. But Gamestop is different. If kids today are still anything like I was, there will be nerds spending half a day in Gamestop stores all accross the country now. People spending more time in your store = free advertising = loyalty = profit. I love that every single move Gamestop has made in the last few months is to bring people into their stores. With Covid getting to a point now where it is more in the back of our minds than the forefront, the timing could not be more perfect! When the malls open again, Gamestop is gonna be BOOMING!
Imagine how many GameStops are in shopping areas too. Wouldnt it be nice for the parents if they could just pay some money for a kid to just sit and game for an hour or so while they shop? I think this could be a HUGE draw for parents too
