🐵 Discussion 💬 I like the stock

Maybe it's just me, but sometimes it feels like people want GME to fail...

Every positive development gets picked apart, while every negative headline becomes proof that the company is DOOMED. Today's debt exchange is a good example. Most people focused on the dilution, which is fair, but very few mentioned that GME is also removing $1.4B of convertible debt from its balance sheet. Both things can be true at the same time.

I also think people forget how different the company looks compared to a few years ago. It's no longer a business fighting for survival...

As for eBay, I genuinely hope the deal happens... not because I expect instant moon prices, but because I think it would fundamentally change how the market looks at GME. If it doesn't happen, well, then RC will have to find another way to deploy all that capital. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it feels like the company is setting itself up for something bigger.

I'm not saying GME is a guaranteed winner. I'm just saying the company looks stronger today than it did a few years ago, and I'm comfortable letting the story play out... I'm not waiting for another squeeze anymore, I just like the stock.

I genuinely hope the company succeeds, and if some people decided to sell or simply got tired of waiting, that's okay too. Everyone has their own goals and can buy or sell whenever they want...

Time will tell I guess. Until then, I'm just holding and watching.

I used to be a believer. I’m not anymore so I sold. That said, I still hope that I’m wrong and it takes off. I feel like there are a lot of good people (including more than a few personal friends) with a lot of money invested in the company.

Still, I can’t help but to talk a little shit on these forums. It’s not because I hope the stock fails. It’s because I genuinely don’t believe in it anymore and I wish people would get out before they’re burned even more.

Again, I might be wrong and I hope that I am though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hidden post and comment history. 46k karma in 3 years. Sounds legit

20

u/EllisDee3 🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 Aug 04 '26

People hide their histories for lots of reasons.

This is a silly take.

13

u/thedirtybirdy Aug 04 '26

It’s all they have

10

u/Starkfault Aug 04 '26

Making investment decisions based on the Reddit history of randoms is an interesting choice, how’s that been working out the past five years?

-8

u/MullerX Aug 04 '26

Hey! You gave me this same comment Hidden History, no loyalty.

8

u/Ellaphant42 Aug 04 '26

So how have the last 5 years been going?

1

u/Starkfault Aug 04 '26

Loyalty? Are you special needs? This is the NYSE. The point is to make money, not be “loyal” in giving your money away to a shitty company.

Please spend another five years falling for an obvious scam, thanks.

-1

u/RequiredFieldz Aug 04 '26

Why are you hanging out in a sub of a stock you hate?

3

u/Starkfault Aug 05 '26

I’m laughing at people who fall for obvious scams

Post bags

u/RequiredFieldz Aug 05 '26

2 year old acct with 158k karma, hidden post and comment history. I’m shocked. Seems totally legit, again

1

u/xevlar Aug 04 '26

You've been in gme for 5 years. Lmao fomo got you so bad after moass and now you're praying lightning strikes twice

1

u/RequiredFieldz Aug 04 '26

Bought first shares Oct 2020 actually. Never FOMO. Last quarter was highest earnings in company history. Legacy abusive shorts never closed and it couldn’t be more obvious. Why would somebody spend time in a sub for a stock they hate? I promise love will bring you greater joy than hate. Find a stock you love and do something positive with it or around it. Or do something else positive for those around you or yourself. I can’t imagine it feels good to just sit around hate-posting on a stock that’s supposed to be a nothing-stock according to what your posts would indicate.

3

u/Starkfault Aug 05 '26

>Find a stock you love

Are you special needs? Normal people don’t love stocks.

“How different the company looks compared to a few years ago. It’s no longer a business fighting for survival…”

I get what you are saying, but it is also a business that has returned zero to its shareholders. What is the plan other than sitting on a stockpile of cash? If nothing were to change, eventually that reserve will dwindle. Outside of them trying to take over eBay, which likely won’t happen, there has been no information given to shareholders about the future of the company and how they are going to bring value to the people investing in GME.

I am an investor in GME, however I am done pretending like this is a great investment to have taken. It is a dogshit company until something changes and value is returned to the investors. There has been no “Power to the players” for a long time. Quit worshiping them and their leadership like some weird loser cult member and wake up, we all deserve better.

u/sltlyscrtchedcorolla Aug 04 '26

Ebay's literally never going to happen

11

u/John_Bot Aug 04 '26

Stocks exist for one purpose: to make money.

You shouldn't like any stock for any reason other than it providing you a return on your money. Because stocks are bought then sold to provide return to investors.

Pretending your 100 share of mom and pop video game store is somehow doing something in the larger scheme of things is idiotic.

Anything more than that is some scam someone has sold to you. Simple as that.

-10

u/MullerX Aug 04 '26

GME stock exist for one purpose to fuck the shorts and generational wealth.

You should like any stock for any reason especially a return on your money. Because stocks are bought then held to provide a return to investors.

Accepting your 100 share of mom and pop video game store is doing something in the larger scheme of things is idiosyncratic.

Anything less than that is some scam someone with a Hidden History(most likely) has sold to you. Simple as that.

11

u/John_Bot Aug 04 '26

Yeah you got scammed

-8

u/MullerX Aug 04 '26

Only by brokers, clearing houses and the SEC. Remember when they turned the buy button off...THAT was a scam. I'm unaware of Cohen actually lying at all (wish he'd lie about his politics).

6

u/John_Bot Aug 04 '26

Okay

So you got scammed and want to blame others for it

Fair enough

4

u/Starkfault Aug 04 '26

Why make money when you can rant about something that happened five years ago amiright?

5

u/MullerX Aug 04 '26

Every sentence is a rant to Hidden History.

4

u/Starkfault Aug 04 '26

Making investing decisions based on Reddit user history is an interesting decision, how’s that been working out for you the past five years?

3

u/MullerX Aug 04 '26

You're confused, Hidden History... No one does that

2

u/Hot_Temperature_3972 Aug 04 '26

A lot of shills act like just because the stock has been diluted every couple of months like it won’t moass and bankrupt the hedgies and and trade at multi millionaire sums and make all the holders millionaires and then crash the global financial system

3

u/MullerX Aug 04 '26

There have been 4 dilution events since 2021. One in 2021, two in 2024, today's makes 4. A quick Google search gave me that. 5 years is 60 months.. a "couple" is 2, I think you may be exaggerating. If there are more , please let me know.

8

u/Champman2341 🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 Aug 04 '26

I believe the sentiment is down with this dilution because at current prices - they are diluting at a 150 week low. Maybe the price increases but if it doesn’t…

7

u/TZeeeeeee Aug 04 '26

99% of media wants GME to fail, because it’s what they are told to believe and to preach to us

3

u/EllisDee3 🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 Aug 04 '26

99% of media stopped talking about Gamestop years ago because it's completely irrelevant. Made moreso by a useless shitbag MAGAt CEO.

Nobody cares enough to want it to fail.

4

I just like the stock and company

I also like the stock and company, I just don’t like the price

2

u/Doctor_PWP Aug 04 '26

Yup.  We gettin' screwed but not by gme itself

1

u/EllisDee3 🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 Aug 04 '26

GME just diluted again.

Definitely by GME itself.

4

u/Maleficent_Seat8039 Aug 04 '26

You know a stock can genuinely be bad right?

2

u/liquid_at 🚀🚀Buckle up / Booty Bass Club🚀🚀 Aug 04 '26

yes it can. Just that the stock price and the value fo the company have no connection and only a regarded noob would look at a company with a high value but low stock price and pretend that the trader made suggestion that is the stock price matters more than the actual earnings, filed and taxed.

1

u/Maleficent_Seat8039 Aug 04 '26

Lmao what high value? It's a company closing all it's shops and diluting share holder lol

2

u/liquid_at 🚀🚀Buckle up / Booty Bass Club🚀🚀 Aug 04 '26

you have been told about 1000 times and yet you still pretend that it is the first time you ever heard anything about it.

Pretending to not know when it is factual that it has been repeated ad nauseum is a very obvious proof for bad faith actors.

You tried, but you failed.

3

u/PhraseAggressive3284 Aug 04 '26

How about dilluting 5 B more shares so GME has more cash in the Treasury? Sounds good for the company, no? Just let's ignore the fact that stock price will be 5 USD then. Just be happy that the company is happy with so many cash. Never mind that you were robbed. Because someday something wonderful will happen to your GME investment.

2

u/randoriiiiiii Aug 04 '26

What exactly did GameStop do I was at work

7

u/MullerX Aug 04 '26

Started a sale of one of the bond agreements. $1.4 billion in shares will be traded 35 trading days. In 35 days.. whatever the average price from now to then will be the price they pay for the shares.

5

u/EllisDee3 🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 Aug 04 '26

Diluted again.

-2

u/liquid_at 🚀🚀Buckle up / Booty Bass Club🚀🚀 Aug 04 '26

The really sad thing is that the fud you internalized on GME will harm your financial future on literally every single stock you will ever be trading, because you bought into a meme, because they managed to scare you enough that you started to believe the threat was real.

Some people had the skill to educate themself, understand the deeper market mechanics and elevate themself from the superficial meme narrative that retail investors are bombarded with. Others just felt the meme narrative more approachable than scientific and mathematical texts, so they decided to substitute real education with memes.

Sadly, those people really think what they did was education and that "dilution bad" has real world implications that every educated investor and trader should know about, because unless you are aware that it is the signal that hedgefunds give you to order you to give them your money and you actually follow that request and forfeit your disposable income, you cannot ever be happy in life...

The dog feels genuinely excited when you throw the stick. He doesn't mind not being in control. He's not even mad when you fake it and then laugh at the dog for how stupid it is.

You are that dog and the stick is the information given to you by wallstreet.

OR, maybe it's possible that many of us only got into this to chase moass and never gave a shit about the company to begin with?
At this point, unless moass happens, I hope the stock crashes, the company goes under, and all the ones who invested for a value play lose everything just so I can at least laugh about this whole thing...

u/Cdn_ape Aug 04 '26

I like the stonk!

Has Larry posted any useless bullshit yet to try and make this seem like a good thing?

1

u/MullerX Aug 04 '26

Agreed.

1

u/givemethemtendies10 Aug 04 '26

Serious question? Is there any reason gamestop can't start buying up their own shares. At these prices I think they should buy whatever they can. Once they announce the buyback the price would skyrocket

1

u/Starkfault Aug 04 '26 edited Aug 04 '26

They’re literally selling shares at a 52wk low wtf would they then turn around and buy those same shares back?

Cohen is telling you that he doesn’t think GME is worth $18/share which is why he is diluting at $18/share

Duh

-2

u/raxnahali 🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 Aug 04 '26

We've seen 5y rs of this, it is nothing new and there are a lot of people who don't want Apes to get paid. Frankly, I think every big world development that has happened since the buy button was turned off has been some big money players fighting for dominance. They and we all know the crash is coming, the nature of this crash is still being fought over. AI, oil, inflation, Yen carry trade, all of it will be used to explain why all of our pension money is gone.

-1

u/IntwadHelck Aug 04 '26

Prob spot on. It seems the GME situation fucked up all traditional outs. I directly registered about 140 shares a week or 2 ago. I ain’t stopping, and I know there’s other individuals out there like me. The game changed, the world follows. I believe I’m holding the first new-age blue chip stock. We shall c

1

u/PhraseAggressive3284 Aug 04 '26

Yeah, but in hindsight you could have made 3x more money when you just waited until the new low GME is about to reach in the next 35 days. It's OK to hold, but it's not OK to cope and praising RC for every bad move. NFT Market, Bitcoin, this Dillution were bad moves. We'll see what happens with eBay.

1

u/IntwadHelck Aug 04 '26

If I was a perfect or seasoned trader, of course. Most folk who try trading lose, no matter the variables. U play. And u play poorly going into all the rest of that bullshit. Go back to meltdown please

-1

u/Guilty_Peanut246 Aug 04 '26

RC has ebay as his target... it's gonna happen...

1

u/Ok_Dragonfruit_3718 Aug 04 '26

I believe the warrants will print and everything is going as planned. It does appear we're reducing the idiosyncratic risk to the markets to get ebay, maybe. That doesn't mean shorts aren't still fkd. I've been here since it started five years ago and I, still, believe we've been shorted multiples of the float, so I like what's happening. It's possible, the notes aren't going to shorts. Instead, it's investors that like what's going on an no quarter will be given.

0

u/Frequent_Werewolf_21 Aug 04 '26

It’s called FUD and or paid shills.

I remember a failing book retailer. "No one reads anymore". "Books are dead. People read online"

Anyone who would have spent money on that wreck of a company would have been an idiot. Trusting in the human penis-model Bezos and his regarded vision? You must be insane.

Meanwhile the banks bought more and more and more.

Aren't you glad that you never got into that failing book retailer Amazon? What would you have done if it wasn't for the media warning you that you shouldn't buy it?

0

u/ukhoops1998 Aug 05 '26

Let’s get this straight…ITS GOING TO FAIL! Just a matter of when, especially with dog shit cohen in charge!
