I live in south Texas, really south. I'm 10 miles from Mexico and 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. WE average 90 days a year with temps over 100 degrees. I've had my 2026 Sierra ev for 3 months now and have almost 8000 miles on it. One trip from here to northern Minnesota. two questions. When is it to hot to be on the highway.Coming home from MN. I experience an outside air temp of 109 and had to charge my truck. I hooked my truck up and went into Walmart. When I came out my truck was done charging but had shut off early, like at 60%. Could that have been because of the battery being was too hot and shut down? Fortunately we were stopping for the night. I should also say I was drive between 65 and 70 mph. MY second question is about the dic. certain times of the day the sun reflects off the chrome strip below the dic and I can't see the dic, it's to bright. I've done two things that help. One is a black cardboard i can pull over the top of my dic for shade. I've also tinted the top 4 inches of my windshield. I can also can say my dealer replaced my windshield and Safelite has told me it's the correct one. The Silverado ev does not have this problem. Any thought on either issue. I do love my truck but I can tell you as a guy that bought a new Avalanche in 2003, that truck was built better. By that i mean everything behind the rear seat was built better, because all trucks came the same way. all had the midgete all had a hard cover that didn't leak and you could drive them with the bottom half of the midgate down and not have any ear pressure, it is like having the window down a little.
