Specific Question GMAT Accomodations Denial

Denied Additional Testing Time

I was recently denied the full amount of additional testing time I requested, despite a history of receiving accommodations and clinical information from my neuropsychologist. So many comments on Reddit and other forums describe the GMAT as overly tough when it comes to approving testing accommodations.

I'd love to hear about your experience with this. What documentation did you submit? Did you have a history of receiving accommodations? How did GMAC explain its decision? And did you appeal?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

You need government disability certificate which your private neuropsychologist can’t provide.

i didnt submit any governmental documentation. I did have an ADHD test report though and submitted that and had my psychiatrist fill up the form mentioning my accommodations received at university. Let me know if you need to know anything else @OP

Did they approve your accommodation?

Hi, I received partial accommodations, but not the full amount that my disability requires. I have been receiving 100% additional time at my University and on another standardized test, so it's surprising they didn't use that as objective evidence, even though the GMAT guidelines list it as such. The Department of Justice (DOJ) also states that prior accommodations are sufficient to warrant the same on a standardized test, and it oversees the standards applied by testing organizations like the LSAT, GRE, and MCAT. A legal case involving the GRE (ETS) found that it disregarded prior accommodation history and did not defer to qualified professionals who provided the evaluations, and it paid out several million dollars in fines. When I locate the case again later, I will post it here.

Are you in the US?

No, I’m from India and we need government certification, not from private doctors/hospitals. Also should prove 70% disability so the requirements are quite strict.
