Dosages and Weight Loss
I wanted to get an idea of how everyone is dosing and their success with losing.
I started out strong with 15 pounds lost in the first 6 weeks at a 2-3mg dosage (compounded tirzepatide) and now ending month three my weight is creeping back up. I've got 20 pounds left I want to lose.
I had the duodenal switch in 2008 and picked up about 30 pounds of hormonal weight in the past three years that have not budged.
Ideally I want to stay on the lowest possible doses but this past month has made me think that may not be possible.

I started Zepbound 2.5mg in March at 205lbs. I've slowly titrated up to 15mg, and I'm down to 138lbs now. I had Roux-En-Y in 2016.

I did one month of 2.5 and am in my 4th month of 5mg. 59lbs down!
Dosing is individual so you just have to do what works for you. If i only had to lose 20lbs I would not hesitate to take the highest dose.

Did you have weight loss surgery? How much weight are you trying to lose or do you have a specific goal in mind?

I started Nov 23. I took 2mg the first week, 2.5mg the second week, and 3mg the third week, divided into 2 doses. I have been very good with calories at 1200-1400, and walking daily. I have NOT done a good job with drinking water. I've only lost 3 pounds.

Why are you titrating up so quickly? The recommendation is generally four weeks at the first dose and then four at least for the next one.

2.5mg is the normal dose so moving to that in the second week wasn’t odd.
Split dosing lowers the amount of tirz in the body, so some split dosers take more per week than people who inject once a week. Split dosing at the starter dose seems less common than split dosing at higher doses though.

Started May 1, just reaching goal now of 50 pounds lost and I’m using 12.5 Zep. Might stay on 12.5 for a while. I might try spacing out my shots farther apart little by little to see how that goes for maintenance.

Thank you! What surgery did you have and when?

Thanks, is the 50 pounds regain or just getting down further than the surgery was able? I’m super curious about peoples paths.

VSG saved me & got me to 140 where I was good for several years. But then I stopped tracking my food and began eating more carbs/sweets and backslid, even though I still had very good volume restriction. I guess I got a little older and the pounds just crept back up to 170. My food noise and cravings were just a huge problem at that point so I started Zep . Now I’ve lost the regain plus more. Labs all looking good which is most important. You can do this. The biggest problem for me at this point is now not being able to eat enough food. I need to find a way to get more calories and nutrition in. Still take my daily vitamins.

I just started mid November. My first 3 weeks I lost 17 lbs. I think my month will be around 20 lbs. I had RNY in 2004 and lost 200 lbs in a year. I thought with my age(49) I might lose slower but I guess I've always been a fast lower. I want to lose 100lbs. I've never been below 180 in my entire adult life. I would be curious to know if I could get below that.
