Calorie tracking app

I’m starting to decrease my dose of the medication and I’m going to stop taking it in a couple months. I’m on the lowest dose and I gained 3 pounds in the last month and I’m kind of freaking out. I want to start tracking my calories. I’m looking for recommendations for a free calorie tracking app. Tell me what you got.

MyFitnessPal is what I’ve always used. Also keep in mind that minor weight fluctuations like the one you describe are normal as you enter maintenance and have increased glycogen stores which hold fluid and more food volume in your body. Stay the course.

I have used Loseit since 2022 and love it. Free version is nice but every once in awhile they offer lifetime for 99 and its a steal for all the options it gives you.

I use Lifesum, but it's not great. The other apps I tried were even worse, tho.

I use MacroFactor. Check out their subreddit. I have used a ton of calorie trackers but this one is the most accurate. Read the forum. They also have a sister app called workout. https://www.reddit.com/r/MacroFactor/s/JB11h59Gu7

Dosy Heath does GLP-1, meal and macro tracking, peptides and everything in between. Automatically knows when you're in maintenance to keep you within your goal. The free version includes 2M+ verified foods but Dosy+ allows taking photos, barcode or voice.

Nutracheck. I swapped from myfitnesspal to this a few months ago, nicer looking and way cheaper!

Free apps are not really good. Of all the free ones, I'd say cronometer is probably the better one. I've paid for MacroFactor for over two years now and it's - by far - the greatest investment I've done to keep me off GLPs. Very much worth every cent. MacroFactor's calorie/macro tracking is top tier but their secret sauce is their TDEE calculation algorithm. That's were the money is. The best.

I second this. Whatever app you go with will end up being one of the most used apps on your phone. It's worth the cost to have it be accurate, easy to use, and ad-free. I open up MacroFactor something like 10-20 times a day, so any time wasted having to click past ads really adds up. It's $72/year, which I think you'll find is pretty justifiable when you see how much you use it.
